What could be the problem?

I’ve had a waypoint nomination rejected for the fifth time because it didn’t meet the Wayfarer criteria. Even though it fits perfectly into the unusual and unique category.

You need to wait a bit longer before entering. Your uploads didn’t finish. We see this:

Okay they uploaded correctly this time. We don’t know exactly what the “automated process”, which is a machine learning model, is looking for.

This is how Google Lens translated your description for me

Description The Kispite Confectionery Workshop produces handmade pastries. These include wedding cakes, birthday cakes and many other pastries. In short, they play a big role in the community.

I am not sold that this is not something that should be rejected for “Generic business” yet. What proof do you have in your supporting section that this is significant to the community, and not just a place you can purchase cakes?

If I were going to submit this, I would use a main photo that is a little less close to give the machine learning model better context as to what you are submitting. I found the location on Maps, but do not see the sign there to demonstrate how I would take the photo.

You also have the ability to appeal a rejected nomination, even if the email says “our team” rejected it. We have 2 appeals, each on a 15 day counter before we can use them again. If the “automated process” is rejecting this, it hasn’t been seen by a human yet. Be sure to provide evidence as to why this is significant to the community, not just tell them it is.

Thanks for your reply, I’ll try to make the text a little bit more understandable.

Hello. I have now had time to study your writing better. If I take the photo from a distance, then that is the problem. At least at another waypoint, that was the reason for the rejection. Now I will add a few photos from a from a distance. Well, the place is a pastry shop where they make handmade cakes and pastries. And yes, the place is a private house with the shop in the front half. I have the sign in the picture That’s why I thought it would be a good waypoint. There are few waypoints in this part of the village.

Hello,

These are the questions I have…

A: Is this a business in a home or a building that contains both a home and a business separate? Do the Bakers use the same kitchen for the business and the normal cooking for the family?
Many people in the UK will run a business and will use a spare room at home as an office, IMO this is still a SFPRP. Lots of old shops would have a separate shop with living areas in the back, definitely separate which I would say nominations on the shop area could be Acceptable.

B: As a Cake business I don’t see this meeting any of the big three criteria.

  • Exercise is definitely a No.
  • Socialise, this would not happen here as the cakes would be taken elsewhere.
  • Explore, Exploring the flavours / styles of cakes in tenuous at best.
Why do you think it meets any of these?

Good Luck
