Why no precheck pos?

my pokestop didnt show up. i read about the cells here. ok.
why does the pogo app not precheck the position before letting me submit?
“sorry, there is a pokestop too near from you.” or something…

Because Wayfarer isn’t just about Pokestops. It’s about building a database of waypoints, points of interest, that can be used in all Scopely-owned games. While it’s really frustrating that a submission might not show up in Pokemon Go, the submission is not worthless or meaningless just because you didn’t get a Pokestop from it.

You are submitting Waypoints, all Waypoints are valid not only the ones that could turn into pokestops/gyms.

Hello and welcome @Schnappbert

It is frustrating when something you are expecting to happen doesn’t come to fruition.

Niantic has never said what the inclusion rules are. The information about cells all is derived from community observation. So I doubt they would incorporate a feature into submission.

So learning about cells is important if you want to only submit objects likely to be accepted into the game. It is then on the submitter to work out the impact of cells on their potential submission and decide whether to choose to submit that object or try to find something else.

So do ask further questions if there aspects you need help with.

We have been saying how frustrating it is that the prompt in Pokemon Go tells you that you are submitting a Pokestop, when it might not become one even if accepted. I do like that the new web submit option says “Wayspots.”

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).
