Why was my stop removed?

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Amarone’s Windsor Inn
  • Location (lat/lon): 40.2418428, -74.5809942
  • City: Windsor
  • Country: United States
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): Accepted on 2023-07-31 and disappeared on 2026-06-16. Nothing has changed so I’m not sure why it was removed.

Probably has been reported as closed. If you have evidence that it still is in business, then you should present that with your appeal.

While the restaurant has been closed, the Inn itself is a historic structure.

Windsor Inn was constructed about 1832, possibly incorporating the earlier stagecoach stop. Historical accounts of the village attribute the present structure to William McKnight. Windsor, NJ was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

I should have noted that I am not staff - just trying to help you with your appeal. If you have evidence that the Wayspot was for the historic structure and that the structure still exists and is being preserved, you should present that for them.

Maps also has a label on the building that it is a Police Department. You may need to address that for staff as well.

Thanks for the appeal, @cgw1710. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.

Can you please provide any insight as to why it was retired?
