Hi,
I just wanted to hand in a new phone stop and checked the criteria. It seem to fit to the criteria but it was automatically dismissed. I wonder if it is automatically dismissed, that I might have some something fundamentally wrong. Could you give me some feedback on this one?
It has a name in it, but that’s the name of the local business. I also checked that if it is a local business with cult status, it can be accepted. What I am wondering, that it doesn’t even pass the automatic test so maybe I am doing something wrong

Hi and thanks for the reply. I would say it falls under local business, if they have a cult status , they might be seen as legit, which in this case is true. It’s one of the oldest local businesses and enjoys much popularity within the city
“Local business” does not equal Social, Exercise or Exploration unless you explain how. Every wayspot must meet one of Social, Exercise or Exploration, as described in the first link.
If you are thinking of the list of categories that you have to choose from, these are worthless and include lots of things that are categorically ineligible (e.g., schools). Pay absolutely no attention to what appears in the list except that you have to choose one - better still, use Niantic Wayfarer where you don’t have to choose a category.
So there is no chance that this will get accepted?
I can’t see how it meets the criteria. Being popular helps with places that are inherently eligible, such as cafes, but does not make something eligible. If this hair salon/barbers has something unique, such as being the place where Bob Marley always went to get his hair done, this could work but you would need evidence

However, what is strange then when selecting the right spot on the map, there is a hint that this place is already included as spot in another game, that’s why I am wondering why it’s not visible in pogo

This appears to be a data point imported by Niantic specifically to have a pool to use as Power Spots only. They do not have to meet criteria and cannot be used as Pokestops or gyms. There is more information about those here: Clarifications on Pokémon Go Power Spots
All of the imported powerspots near me are of things that are definitely not eligible as wayspots.
