Will I get a warning/ban for editing or removing my own nominated Wayspots?

I wanted to ask something about Wayspot edits/removals.

Some of the POIs/Wayspots that I had nominated earlier have now been removed from real life or no longer exist at the location. If I submit an edit or removal request for those Wayspots, will it cause any warning or ban on my Wayfarer/Pokémon GO account?

I’m not trying to abuse the system or remove valid Wayspots — I only want to report the ones that are genuinely gone or no longer meet the criteria because they don’t exist anymore.

Is it safe to submit removal/edit requests for my own previously nominated POIs if they have been removed in real life?

Hi, it’s no problem at all if the removals are legitimate. The life of some objects is finite - it does not make whoever initially submitted them an abuser.

so how do i remove them coz i have no clue about this

Hey @DarkMatter64100 ,

You can remove them in-game or reach out to the team directly using this link: Request modification or removal of a PokéStop or Gym – Pokémon GO

You can report via Pokémon GO while on the location (open the POI → tap three dots on the top right → select “Report Pokéstop issue” → select what fits best and add your photo proof).

You can also report via the form here:

Or by navigating to the object on the Wayfarer map (top tab of the Wayfarer website) and pressing “Report”.

In all cases I would strongly recommend to add proof of it being gone, otherwise your report may get rejected.

Good luck!

Oops @NianticAaron was faster :person_running:

but his has a typo that makes it 404 not found

I once submitted a spot, had it rejected, got accepted on appeal, then it was physically removed a couple of weeks later, and I submitted a removal. (I think I may have had to appeal the removal as well.).
