Worth appealing?

Hi! I submitted this art by the artist Jaune in the publicly accessible elevator of the cultural centre in town. It got rejected and I am wondering if you guys think my appeal would get accepted as I don’t want to waste it.

Location: Bongerd 18, 6411 JM Heerlen, Netherlands

Thank you!

I would want the submission to be more substantial before appealing. This looks like something that could be a simple transfer, so you need to address that. An artist’s website announcing the artwork would be helpful, as would proving the location is correct.

What does a simple transfer mean in this context?

Would linking this provide enough information, do you think?

That link looks good, I would resubmit using a nicer photo too (like a closer crop etc). Are the ones on the staircase already in Wayfarer?

Yes, that sort of link is excellent!

By simple transfer (misphrased slightly), I meant something that could have been peeled off from backing paper, placed onto the window, photographed and then removed, all for the purposes of creating a wayspot. I wasn’t saying you did that, but it looks like something where that could have happened, so you need evidence of it being actual art - which you have.

Links can be included in the supporting text.

Thanks! Yes, they are, I submitted those too:)

Oh gosh, such crafty ways people have to fake Wayspots. Thank you for the info!

it’s normally something done using AI now, rather than going to the bother of physically doing it, but people definitely submit fake wayspots. Threads on this forum have discussed AI generated murals and trail markers.
