Would this be acceptable?

Ok, I think I am stretching the imagination a bit here…. I have this on hold in my queue just in case this is acceptable. The path leads to part of the Hillingdon Trail. The trail is backed up by Hillingdon Trail - Hillingdon Council . I am trying to talk myself out of letting the sub into the queue…. any opinions welcomed.

IMO: I would struggle with this if it’s not the trail, just the direction to the trail?

Although on a 2nd look the sign does show 2 directions. Do you have evidence this is part of the trail?

This appears to be a marker on the actual Hillingdon Trail, rather than pointing towards it. The former would be eligble; the latter would be a stretch.

Just for clarification, I am subbing the footbridge, not the signage.

I think the sign would be an easier nomination if it is a marker on the actual trail…

Got it. Some people accept all footbridges, but I’m not one of them. That it leads you towards a trail is slightly significant. You would do best with making a strong case for why this footbridge helps with exploration and exercise. If you can’t, you’ll probably get rejected because if you can’t work out how to sell something borderline…

I think it’s a bridge on a named trail: Way: ‪Hillingdon Trail‬ (‪73303422‬) | OpenStreetMap

Named trail is good, footbridge is so-so but in the context of the trail it’s an important waypoint. I would probably vote for it, but put in good evidence that it’s part of the trail (e.g. the OSM link)

Nicely spotted.

Relation: ‪Hillingdon Trail‬ (‪156832‬) | OpenStreetMap shows the entire route of the Hillingdon Trail on OSM - I have zoomed in on this location. The link @shritwod found is just one part (sometimes OSM is a little scatty).

This footbridge is indeed on the trail, not simply near it as @P1dg3ySlayer seemed to be suggesting. LDWA confirms this.

Coolio. I’ve updated the description on my nomination and unleashed it to the masses (once it leaves the queue). I’ll see how it goes.

If you didn’t include links in your supporting text to prove the route of the trail, I suggest putting it back on hold and adding them in.

I’ve added the links. I had the Hillingdon Trail - Hillingdon Council link on the Supporting info, but forgot to add the Openstreetmaps references previously. So have added the links from this thread to the supporting info. Let’s see how it goes.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t! Looks good to me!

I wouldn’t even blink twice at approving that footbridge on a trail.

I would go both.

A trail marker and a footbridge. As long as evidence provided as appropriate for both…

Good luck  @P1dg3ySlayer

Not a great fan of certain trailmaker signs as they are hit and miss. I generally only do ones that have definitive information that I can use to describe it.
