Very recently, a local POI was removed for no apparent reason. I would like to have it reinstated please, I’ll provide as much information as possible:
- Wayspot Title: Yogaroots Parkstad Studio
- Location (lat/lon): 50.87532771210162, 5.990503316331066
- City: Heerlen
- Country: Netherlands
- Additional Information (if any): Added below are additional pictures taken today of the yogastudio.
The name of the yoga studio was changed a couple years ago from Yogaroots Parkstad to Star of Light when the studio was sold to the current owners. There was no reason to remove the entire POI when a simple name edit would have sufficed.
Even though the building lies in a residential area, this building is solely used as a yoga studio. It is owned by local yoga practitioners, who also happen to play Pokemon Go. I contacted them, and they were not responsible for the removal of the POI, nor did they want it gone. Not sure if it’s applicable in this case, but I had a church in my area change names (not sure if it’s the same congregation or not) and was advised to remove and resubmit as new. That could be a solution here as well.
As you mention “residential area”, that is probably not an issue. The rule only prohibits stops on the property of single-family residences. Proximity (such as being across the street or next door or even objects in the public right of way along the street) is okay, as are multi-family residential.
Thank you for your reply! If it turns out it is not possible to investigate why/by whom this stop was removed, I will eventually just resubmit it, but for now, if possible, I would really like someone from Niantic/Wayfarer to look into this case, as this has happened with more POI’s in this area in the recent and not so recent past.

Thanks for the appeal @IcyRuler , we looked at this Wayspot again and stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
Thank you for looking into this matter. If this is the final decision, then so be it. However, I would like to understand the reasons why this POI has been removed, as it meets many eligibility criteria (as stated in my first post). Mainly because I am currently in the process of submitting many new POI’s in my neighbourhood, and I would like to avoid making similar mistakes. It’s just, I have been doing this since the start of Wayfarer, and I simply don’t understand why this particular Wayspot has been removed. Can you please tell me why? Thank you once more!

The wayspot was not for the business that is there now, so has been removed. You can submit a wayspot for what is there and it will go through the usual review process. This is the standard process when a business changes hands.
Really? I don’t mind resubmitting under it’s current name, I just figured that since Aaron said they stand by their decision to keep the old one removed, it meant that I wasn’t supposed to resubmit it.
That is an understandable reaction 
My reading is that the two businesses are not the same, so the old wayspot being removed does not stop a wayspot being submission for a different business at the same location.
You wouldn’t be resubmitting the same thing that has just been removed (even though it’s the same building, premises and type-of-use).
It wasn’t removed because of it being an ineligible location (single family residential property or school). It was removed because the thing it represented doesn’t exist anymore. Two different situations.
Seems like I can just resubmit it under its new name then! Thank you both for the help!
