Dangerous Wayspot Location

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title:Replica Statue of Liberty
  • Location (lat/lon):40.35, -76.92
  • City: Dauphin PA
  • Country: USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any): Location is in the middle of the Susquehanna river. There is no pedestrian access and is dangerous to attempt by watercraft. At that section the river is shallow and fast moving with lots of rocks. I feel that the Wayspot should be removed as to not encourage anyone to try to access it.

You need to post proof of these claims.

Took me a bit to find as the coordinates are a little off.

I looked through all the google pictures online and none show you can actual walk to this. You can boat to it, but it isn’t something you would be able to get out and walk around, snap a picture etc.

It is so frustrating that you had that rejected. I find most of my reports are rejected lately. Even if they are older wayspots and streetview is up to date.

Susquehanna River kayaking. Anyone who knows the area knows where this is. Check out this guys kayaking photos to get a sense of it. It is a class 2 rapids and requires people to stay close to the shore to stay away from the rocks and waves.

Thanks for the appeal, @Androctasiae After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
