The Haltiala Periscope has been permanently removed and no longer exists. Recent photos confirm that both the periscope and its map panels have been dismantled. The current official Haltiala Farm map no longer includes the attraction. Street View may still show the old structure, but that imagery is outdated. Almost all of these features will still exist. Tarmaced tracks that have been showing on streetview for 16 years and existing for even longer, plus a house, plus a road sign, will not have all been removed in the past 8 months.
It will be possible to take a picture that matches this streetview location.
We looked at the shared information and decided to stand by our decision to not retire this Wayspot.
On a different note, I want to remind you that attempting to remove a Wayspot with doctored or incorrect evidence is considered abuse and may lead to severe consequences for the accounts involved, upto and including permanent termination.
It’s taken me this long to realise where the op took the photos from. The third photo, with the pole leaning slightly to the right, was taken from the location of this wayspot, but carefully angled away from the POI to make sure it was not included in the photo even if it still existed.
