I’m new to Wayfarer and was curious about how nominations for PokéStops or Gyms are selected. What factors determine whether a nomination gets approved as a PokéStop or a Gym?

What we are doing with Wayfarer is nominating new Wayspots, not stops/gyms. Wayspots must meet criteria, which can be found here:
Each approved Wayspot gets added to the Lightship map, which each Niantic game uses to determine game play locations, with some exceptions to Power Spots. Each game also has their own density rules, with PoGo using S2 cells and Ingress using a 20 meter rule. More info on PoGo and S2 cells can be found here:
