I just noticed this during the event, and I am not certain if this has been the case always or just now during the event. However when submitting a text edit - either a title or description edit - via Ingress scanner, the user get a messages stating:
You have X title edits available today.
Y more title edits will be added tomorrow.
You have X description edits available today.
Y more description edits will be added tomorrow.
…but that’s just misleading. As the text edits consume each other’s quota, you don’t have X title AND description edits. I was confused yesterday when I thought I had many description edits left (as the scanner said so) and then after doing some title edits I suddenly had less description edits than the scanner had said.
Could this be rephrased as text edits instead of title and description edits? Would be less misleading.

10 a day max for titles and descriptions? We’re gonna need more than that if you’re going to make this a challenge, Wayfarer / Niantic. Don’t start a horse race and kneecap the horses. Cmon.

That’s been true for at least ten years. Niantic hasn’t cared that it’s inaccurate, and upsets people trying to improve their database.
Maybe with this new focus on edits, they’ll change the code to do what the text says. (Or at least change the text to say what the code does.)

Their logic assumes you’ll do as many location changes as pictures, titles, descriptions. Counting location in your edit possibilities, makes a big total number. Even tho it’s impractical to move that many wayspots - and anyone trying would likely get banned.
Mathematically, the last day to join the challenge, and have any chance of reaching the top tier, in Nov 8. But it would take a lot of time over those 5 days.

Location edits that are good and necessary would be very very few, and also I dont want to be the person making stuff vanish due to cells

If a correction makes them go away, I am okay with that, but if something needed to be corrected, I have done it already. I did find an art piece that has been moved to the other side of the shop and a very old wayspot that was just a smidge off and submitted those, but that’s about it. Neither moved to a new L17 fwiw.
[edit: except for the art museum where they decided to remove a poi i tried to correct. i am not touching the art musuem.]

I’ve maxed out location edits. And have enough queued up to make use probably all that I get.
Yes, indeed. I’ve done quite a number of edits locally over the last year or so, so I think a lot of what is left is minor now for me as well.
I did have some accepted by the ML.
