When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Maritime Laser Cutting Metal Dinosaur Bones
  • Location (lat/lon): 44.65422,-63.54131
  • City: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
  • Country: Canada
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any):

I am appealing my rejection for removal of a wayspot that has not existed for some time. I took the GPS photos a couple of weeks ago and this is my first opportunity to provide my appeal.

I first want to draw you to a screenshot of the photo only photo for the wayspot that was taken 9 years ago. Google maps and satellite do not always update for some areas, so I was required to use a free version of GPS Camera 55 to make a compare and contrast for support of my appeal.

Where the dinosaur bones used to be, this is what I see. You can see the same building in the background. I have taken photos from each view of the wayspot location to show it is permanently removed. The place where it was has since been refurbished and is pending a new sign.

This is a close up of that building background I am using as a point of reference between the Waypoint’s 9-year old Niantic photo and my supporting photos.

Here is looking at points in the other direction to get a 360 degree view.

I am hopeful that my additional findings above are supportive and thorough for my removal appeal.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Thanks for the appeal, @WillZedd. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspots in question.
