The removed wayspots are part of an educational route (“Het Wieggese Proatpad”) created by an artist for the municipality of Wijchen. The route was placed between the old library in the town center to the new library at the local campus. Along this route several pavement tiles were replaced by artistic ones with a word in the local dialect. Since this dialect is disappearing this route is a way to remember/introduce it to younger generations. There are 60 words in dialect that are placed on the tiles of the walkway from the market to the new library.

As you can see in the photo, all these stops were all approved a long time ago and have nothing to do with the big bot outbreak we had in the area.

Please reconsider and bring back our wayspots/gyms. The route is a fun way to learn about these words. It’s educational and it gets people walking. The wayspots “Klep ekster” is located in front of the library and is the last wayspot of the route.

These tiles have nothing to do with the mosaic tile abuse that occurred in the Netherlands so I don’t see why these tiles were removed. They are unique and have a local history tied to them. It looks like someone is abusing the removal of pavement tiles in this case

They were removing street tile wayspots because those are ALL suspected of being placed by players to gain an in-game advantage. These were clearly not placed for that purpose, so they should absolutely be restored.

Thanks for the appeal, @Raven808 We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspots.

I really can’t fathom how you reached that conclusion given all the evidence provided.

Should we interpret this decision as the go ahead to remove any and all types of pavement tile wayspots? We have exercise routes and stuff like Stolpersteine as well, should these also be removed because they are pavement tiles? @Ambassadors please take a look at this post

Can you tell me what is wrong with the wayspots? I do not understand.

@Ambassadors, As Raven808 is asking, can we get an explanation why you’ve come to this disission?

It’s not our ambassadors that take these decisions. Niantic takes these decisions themselves.

As stated by @Tokekkebo the decisions made here are done solely by the Wayfarer team.
Ambassadors do not make these decisions.
