But you never know what is the original and what is the edit. They are in random order on the review screen.
If people could report edits as abusive, Niantic would be swamped with reports for edits that happened to list the change first. Reviewers who incorrectly believe that the original is always listed first - would increase Niantic’s human review workload, slowing response to other, real, reports.

Thats a fair point. Definitely wouldnt work for text edits. Guess photo edits are probably the only ones you could potentially tell for spam edits/abuse especially since you can individually mark each one different. Great point though!
As an Ingress player, I honestly don’t mind. It should really be the Ingress team that implements a Portal Key search function rather than needing to name all the others to suit one game or another.
Of course, my preference is to have the actual title over an abbreviation or the initials, to better reflect the object.

The “Key sort issue” gets brought up from time to time and it’s important to understand how Wayfarer might affect the games because that can better help Wayfarers at identifying potential abuse.
Glad it doesn’t bother everyone. I like to say it just means your strategy has to change a little.

Wouldn’t you agree philosophically that voting for oneself ought to be allowed in popularity polls, but not in matters of judgement? Every other vote you make is for or against the work of an unknown party.
Voting for your own edit feels dishonest since there is a clear conflict of interests and you have already made your choice when pressed ‘submit’.
Edit titles won’t show you what was the original title to hide bias. A lot of periods are added by accident due to the keyboard app.
I don’t have a good answer. But Niantic requires x number of reviewers and I only count as “x-1y” where y is my “score,” whatever that is. There is no singular person deciding the edit. And I have seen edits I’ve submitted coupled with other people’s edits where I have or have not agreed that mine is the “best” option.
And is judgement not a vote for popular opinion of criteria?
