Both of mine are old railway infrastructure from the late 1800s.
I think this is my favourite bridge submission. It’s in a very tranquil setting and it’s nice to go there and just chill out in nature for a bit sometimes.
I don’t submit many tunnels or bridges because I don’t find many of them to be great places under criteria but I have one tunnel
and one bridge
that I thought were great places for exploration
My favorite footbridge submission was a bit tricky. I had a result in my head which the ML would never accept. So I’d to start with a boring photo and after acception I went back to submit my vision. Here’s the start and end:
This first one because it took 10 tries to make it a PoI and reporting a fake to get it into Go! Hardest spot I’ve ever submitted
And then this one just because I like the reflection!
I had to have a railway bridge somewhere - it is lightship only but lovely Victorian architecture of something very functional
This is a very utilitarian bridge across a motorway a vital link on a 200 mile trail.
And this modern suspension bridge built specifically to enable a cycle and walking route as part of the Cornish trail
Ive submitted a grand total of 2 bridges, so this one i suppose lol, i think its a listed one but i didnt even put that much effort into it lol
I got a few nominations inside tunnels, but only one tunnel-focused nomination. A tunnel system at a coastal fortress mined out by germans during WW2. No lights, just free exploration for those who dare.
And for bridges, how about the longest hanging bridge in Norway, with the tallest solid structures in the country as well. Photo taken from a nearby 1250m tall mountain.
I have four and can’t pick between them as they are for two tunnels very close together. For me they are special because the walking trail along the old railway here was a lot less accessible when I was younger (cough) as the tunnels were blocked off. When the tunnels were opened up, it made a massive difference to the trail.
I was going to post these and just happened to scroll past the wayspot from @PkmnTrainerJ !
