AI Review Error - Serious
We found that the AI review system has the advantage of helping to review and accept nominations very quickly and conveniently BUT there is also the problem
- It does not recognize which nominations are real and which are fake
- That nomination has historical and cultural significance or a worthy factor
- The nomination is abused
=> The consequence of this is that many Fake nominations are formed, and nonsense nominations such as apartments, building names, private business locations, even chain businesses, … are also accepted and this shows that there is no more fairness and transparency for reviewers in their area.
Appeal Error - Serious
We realized that Niantic staff do not really know which nominations are real or fake or even how they meet the criteria, but still ignore and accept appeals for fun.
- Many local people started to abuse by creating fake nominations and using reasons like this is a community location and it was accepted but while the nomination has no meaning such as: Apartment, building nameplate, company,…
- The appeal is becoming too abused in many countries and many nominations that were rejected by the community are accepted
Fake nominations and unreasonable locations are increasing - VERY SERIOUS
Based on the above factors, you can see that the problem of fake local nominations is increasing
I even realized that they intentionally created fake pins on the map so that when the appeal was approved by Niantic while the real location was hundreds of meters away or sometimes a whole city, even a whole country.
In addition, recently I realized that when creating a nomination, it takes a long time to pass. Before, it was only within a few hours or a day for the nomination to be successful. The fact that it took 3-4 days, sometimes 1-2 weeks, for my nomination to pass shows that Niantic intentionally increased the rating of a nomination too high so that many players would accept it, which leads to an imbalance and loss of everyone’s expectations. For example, before a nomination could only require 10-15 people to agree, but now the number of people agreeing must double to see an approval or rejection email returned.
Clearly, these are cases that show that Wayfayer is showing signs of increasing instability and the system is becoming more and more unfair. I think Niantic should leave everything as it is to at least respect the reviewers. It is appropriate for me and the review community to give objective opinions to see whether a nomination meets the criteria and is worthy of the player or not. It is not that when I finish reviewing and Niantic reviews it but does not know the truth, they change the player’s decision. So does that mean players have to go to that point to check and report again before those false nominations are removed? Where is the fairness? It just costs Niantic more work without any benefits and makes players have to both review and go out to report fake nominations that Niatic approved? That’s absurd.

If you find any fake wayspots or wrong location editing behaviour then do use the report abuse form at the top of this forum. Provide as much evidence as possible.

thank you, i have reported dozens of fake applications recently and was very frustrated when i found out the community rejected but the appellant was too cunning and bypassed Niantic to pass
For example, a nomination I reviewed was like this, the photo looked like it was indoors, and the map was unclear where it was, I rejected it because it was private or the location was unknown, but just appealed and Niantic accepted it unconditionally
even players appeal to nominate duplicates like the picture =))), I’m so tired of errors like this

How do you know they went down the road of an appeal. Could they have resubmitted?

in the country there is a separate wayfayer group and i am also in it, i read a lot of comments and messages about corrupted players here. because when they are rejected, they tell each other that appealing will be easier than the reviewer so just appeal and pass. i didn’t believe it until i tried it too, this leads to a story that people will be too lazy to recreate the nomination and use some form to appeal to easily get pokstop to play
These nominations are approved by Niantic because when I saw it was on the map, I duplicated it. I don’t understand why there are 2 nominations like that.
I REMEMBER MY COMMUNITY REJECTED THIS NOMINATION BECAUSE OF WRONG DESCRIPTION AND ATTEMPT TO MANIPULATE THE MODERATORS (IN THE DESCRIPTION IT CLEARLY STATED: “PLEASE REVIEW AND ACCEPT”) AND I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY IT WAS ACCEPTED
AND NOW I HAVE TO WASTE TIME EDITING OR ASK NIANTIC TO REPORT (it should have been rejected because it violated Niantic criteria)
That’s it, the author Niantic is wasting real players’ time, they review and the results are nothing and their ratings are extremely low.

Hey hey I saw this application too and rejected it, how did it get accepted, what reviewer manipulation!
I’m from Cambodia and because I’m close to the border with Vietnam, I also saw these nominations. It’s strange. I also translated them myself and saw many nominations that didn’t match the description as well as nominations that didn’t make sense. I don’t understand why they were accepted when they were rejected. Does Niantic have any answer to this problem? Is the rating of a nomination increased or is it because someone is abusing it to influence the results of these nominations? More and more localities have meaningless pokestops that I myself am far away and don’t have enough database to destroy those abusive nominations.

Thank you for the report. We looked into these nominations and we have discovered a voting ring. We are going to investigate it and take necessary action.

Thanks for your feedback! I think many people will agree because it’s not that we want to reject nominations, but in fact there are too many poor quality or incorrect nominations, but these poor nominations still pass.
Hello, I also encountered a similar situation when I just rejected the unreasonable nominations, then a few minutes later at that location I saw it was approved. It’s absurd that it was a wrong nomination but someone intentionally said YES and ignored the rules from Niantic, I think everyone here sees the mistake! and they are showing us a huge loophole in Wayfayer Vietnam, someone intentionally chose YES so that all nominations, whether right or wrong, are accepted.

I just reviewed some nominations and discovered that I had rejected this circled nomination because of the call for voting in the information section. Then I discovered that in the same area there were also nominations and calls for voting and I hope everyone can help, when I or anyone else rejected these incorrect nominations, they were still accepted. So is there someone intentionally changing the results or is Ni still turning a blind eye because this error is not worth worrying about?
You can translate the sentence “Mong anh/ chị xem xét và duyệt giúp” to mean “I hope you will consider and approve”
So is that called the Influencing Reiviewers?

I also see one that is always written in the description, they call for everyone to help evaluate, I will reject because the description is invalid but will this nomination be accepted by any means? At this time, I have rejected many nominations but it still passes unconditionally, maybe it is true that the author is trying to use protest or is it Niantic’s fault or is there a problem with the scoring and evaluation mechanism of an election in this area, or even like Aaron said there is a voting ring by anyone to change the result
If the wayspots are valid, you could submit edits to the descriptions. It could even give you credit on the Wayfarer submit-edit Challenge, which goes Oct 30 thru Nov 11.
Niantic could still deal with the nominators as they see fit.
Thank you for your comments, but I think that’s not the case. They are reporting the problem:
- Description or additional information containing content related to manipulation or calling for review and acceptance of nominations
- Second, the nomination was correctly rejected but still passed without a clear reason because the prison community rejects many nominations like this
- Third, it is not clear whether Niantic interferes with the score of a nomination or not because meaningless nominations are accepted absurdly.
This problem is an error, not an edit to the description. Now that the rating of a nomination has increased, editing also takes a lot of time. It’s better for the creator to have their nomination rejected and realize their mistake than to be passed fraudulently

Is there any mistake? I just reviewed a nomination, why is it considered participating in a circle review??? I posted a post to question and not understand why a wrong nomination was accepted that I reviewed and now I’m banned!!!
I play alone and don’t join any group. I don’t understand what’s going on, the people commenting here must be of the same opinion?
