Accepted Pokestop not appearing after more than a year

Hello,

My Pokestop nomination was accepted well over a year ago, and it has still not appeared in game. The acceptance email said it could take up to 48 hours but over a week seems a bit much.

I get that not all Waystops appear in every game but surely there’s no reason as to this one would not appear in game.

It’s in the same level 17 s2 cell as “Skatepark do Parque Urbano da Quinta dos Arcos”

Hey there, on top of being accepted through Wayfarer to the database and the 48 hours wait, there’s the hidden rule of the games themselves deciding which database entry to include, and which to exclude.

Pokémon GO used S2 Level 17 cells to decide this. On this screenshot, you can see that the green rectangle has your Wayspots, but also another already being in there (Skate park). Only one Pokestop or Gym can exist in such a cell, and as such, Pokémon GO won’t include your accepted Wayspot.

This doesn’t look like it was moved to me. If so, I think it was a pretty minor move.

Red arrow points to the wayspot that should show in Pokemon GO. Yellow arrow points to your pirate ship playground.

They both occupy the same cell, so only 1 will show.

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the Lightship database, which can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. This is a good article about S2 cells and PoGo:
