This Wayspot violates TOS and is eligible for removal

1. This Business No Longer Exists

As of July 31st, 2026: The Hitching Post, it’s owners, and all unique identifying features no longer are found at this address. As per the new owners instagram page, the interior and its identifying features like the tiled ceiling have been stripped and removed. The exterior has also received a new coat of paint. This photo was taken on the premises:

2. New Business is a 21+ Bar

When the original wayspot was submitted the location operated as primarily a cafe with bar hours at night. As of July 31st 2026 the current local laws prohibit that. Effective May 3rd 2023: Utah State Code: 32B-6-406 Subsection 5a-i-b: A minor: may not be admitted into, use, or be in the licensed premises of: a bar licensee, except to the extent provided for under Section 32B-6-406.1(which only applies to concert halls with separate bar areas) And clearly states, “A bar licensee that holds a dance or concert hall permit shall operate in such a way that: the bar licensee’s lounge. . . is: not accessible to a minor; clearly defined; and separated from the dance or concert hall area by one or more walls, multiple floor levels, or other substantial physical barriers” Lindsay’s Sports Bar and Grill(post remodel business) does not have a valid concert hall permit and does not operate as one. Which means that due to previous stated laws, minors are not admitted into the licensed premises of a bar licensee.

Lindsay’s Sports Bar and Grill is NOT a restaurant or cafe, it is licensed as a bar: State Licenses and is located on the property that The Hitching Post used to be, as such it would be ineligible to become a Wayspot as per the rejection criteria: Location is an adult-oriented store or service

I apologize in advance for bringing up an old topic but I believe this evidence proves that this Wayspot is eligible to be removed

I don’t think 21+ should merit removal of a waypoint. All ages play this game, including adults who don’t always wish to see kids around. And the poi is still interactable while outside of the business. That being said, it is a college town so maybe that should be taken into consideration.

I don’t make the rules, Niantic/Scopeley don’t want 21+ locations as wayspots

The key to consider here is whether the business that allowed this POI to be accepted as a wayspot has gone.

For that you need to provide evidence that the business is gone.
It is curious that banner says remodel ( indicates more of a refresh of the same business) rather than clearly state its a brand new business.

Based upon the Instagram screenshot , it does looks like this wayspot should not be accepted at the moment.

The question is if removal criteria are the same for adult orientated wayspots, as for K12. To be honest, I don’t know, I would expect that it does meet removal criteria.
