Whether or not it would be accepted by reviewers, it’s been rejected by eMiLy, probably because the photo has too much green in it.
Since you need a new photo to resubmit after a rejection by eMiLy, take one focusing on the bench as the main photo with as little background as possible, with the view in the supporting photo. You could then keep a nicer photo to add to the wayspot if it gets approved.
I’m not completely on that idea. The nomination is for the outlook so avoiding outlook feels wrong for me.
I’d appeal this one in hope the ML will understand one day.
I think it’s a very good photo, better than one just focused on the bench. I have the same issue with trail markers - a nice photo which shows the marker in context with the surroundings showing what a good walking area it is is less likely to be accepted than one that just shows the marker.
I find it is easier to adapt the photo to get through the review process than to rely on appeals. Not ideal, but it’s pragmatic.
I’d also stress that it’s a lookout point rather than a bench, I’ve seen that a few times and have voted to approve them where I probably wouldn’t for a plain old bench.
