Additional Information (if any): This old sign has been replaced by a new sign showing a different name, so I’m trying to get the old sign deleted in order to replace it with the new sign. The replacement of the physical sign can be seen in the Maps link above. The old sign is present in the 2019 street view but has been replaced by a different sign and park name in the 2024 street view. The current name of the park is also on the official government NParks site: https://beta.nparks.gov.sg/visit/parks/park-detail/jalan-sembilang-park
Years ago when the town changed the name of White Oak Park to Ed Yerha Park, I did this through an edit that I had to appeal but was accepted. I think an edit is still the correct procedure instead of removal and replacement.
I saw a staff reply to someone else’s topic saying not to repurpose old wayspots, though I’m not 100% sure if that applies to park signs.
More importantly though, I don’t want to submit two edit requests plus one photo addition, then wait for three rejections in order file three appeals over two months (while giving up the chance to use those appeals on new nominations), and then still have to file another help chat request for old photo deletion. If they reject this deletion request, then I’m just going to let the sign continue being wrong because I’m not spending multiple appeals on this.
Thanks for the appeal, @azerlete. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
