Hello and welcome @MeanLeanDean

Are you talking about the restoration of one of those small GPO basic utility markers?

Those are not eligible as they are part of street infrastructure.

But if you wish to progress an appeal you will need up to date photos.

I was curious to see what the Stone Marker looked like and was located for the Post Office. But I am not seeing anything that resembles a Post Office or Stone Marker here. Can you confirm the coordinates as I only see a Vape store, laundry, and a clothing resales store. Past that I see residential properties.

I may be missing it, but if I’m missing it Staff may miss it too.

Found it, it’s seems to be quite Shy…

Figured since quite a few efforts were made to get it through, worth trying to get the valid waypoint restored. Thank you for your reply as it gives helpful info to progress. Seen many GPO markers as pokestops and this one is in an area that a safe public place and the nearby church pokestop was keep in since being included from february 2025.

this is one of the reasons the waypoint is worth the efforts, it exists but is hidden behind the blue lampost and diagonal. SlimboyFat71 posted a picture of the GPO marker and is still there. Don’t know why it was removed, it was only a pokestop for less than a week and suspect foul motives.

The problem is stating how these match the big three criteria. Only “Explore” has a chance.

Just doing a small amount of research took me to GPO Marker Posts - About the Posts

It seems that, in the same way as UK Postboxes - https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/t/uk-postboxes-topic these also have the reigning monarchs cypher.

“From before the end of George’s reign the original design of cast iron marker posts was replaced with concrete pillars”

The majority of the “concrete” posts are from ERII and using the same criteria as postboxes would not be distinct.

If you found a “cast iron” or the rare “George V” concrete examples you probably have a chance.

Good luck.

Thank you very much for the help and links. May just resubmit over appeal but can try all ways. Knowing the reasoning behind the removal would help but nothing, such is life. Again, thank you for the help and have a fine evening.

Just to clarify…

I have seen several of these in review (I believe including yours), as I had no knowledge of them I Skipped.

After reading the linked page I would likely Reject the concrete posts unless evidence that it was a rare George V example was provided.

A fair point, not trying to sway anyone into doing what they believe is appropriate. Some areas don’t have as much to nominate as other areas, what would be low quality entries in areas where there is plenty to nomimate would be high quality entries in areas with less to nominate. It is interesting to learn about this whole world of submissions and processes.

You don’t get any notification of removal of a wayspot. I have had a few of mine removed and only noticed on visiting the area….in each case the object no longer existed so it was clear why removed.
It is frustrating when looking for things to submit.
As a general piece of guidance just because you see examples of an object in the game it doesn’t mean those are automatically eligible objects. We would be very happy to guide about eligible objects in Nomination Support . Gloucester has a rich history so there should be eligible places around.

If the appeal is not upheld then please don’t resubmit as that can be considered spamming of an ineligible nomination.
