Hello, I would like to appeal a wayspot that has been part of the community for years now. I’ve found that suddenly a few wayspots have been removed in my neighbourhood for no good reason, and more questionable stops are still there, which seems quite targeted.
Wayspot Title: Gageldonk Street Name Sign
Location (lat/lon):52,1841750, 5,3873653
City: Amersfoort
Country: Netherlands
Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): Stop was not rejected, it was in the game for 1.5 years
Additional Information (if any): Seems to be quite random or targeted, many questionable stops are still around while these are removed.
The difference with the examples given above is that this street sign is quite unique. Apart from not being the same as any other mass produced street signs in the Netherlands, it shows characteristic parts of the layout of its neighbourhood of Kattenbroek. The symbol at the top is a map of the most important land marks of the neighbourhood.
The uniqueness of this sign is why it was originally nominated. I would understand if it was removed for it being a normal street sign, but I would not consider this a normal street sign, but a rather unique aspect of the neighbourhood, and an interesting thing to explore, especially since it can be missed if not paid special attention to.
As comparison, a normal Dutch street sign is blue, long, and has only the name of the street on there.
I understand a bit more why the decision to remove was originally made, but I feel like this particular stop falls out of the scope for this reason for removal.
I can see 4 identical signs in a very short stretch of road, plus a couple more that are in the same style for other streets. They don’t come across as particularly unique given 6 of them are in such a small area. Regardless of that argument though, the specific sign you’ve shown appears to be located on the wall of a private residential property.
