Approved pokestop is not showing up

Hi,

I am new to this nomination stuff so please bear with my stupid question…

I got an email 2-3 days ago that the community has decided to accept your Wayspot nomination. However, it has been more than 48 hrs - can anyone help me with the reason why its not showing up on pokemon go ? I will attach the image.

Thank you in advance.

Cyndiepoah has this written up for when I see a wheresmypokestop question:

I know the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot to the database.

The Wayspot can only become a Pokestop or gym if it is alone in a level 17 S2 cell. (The S2 cell use has not been officially confirmed to my knowledge, but staff has acknowledged there is an additional step.) This is a good article about S2 cells and how they have been observed to be used in PoGo: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
(Eligible Wayspots are added to Pokemon Go in a sync that happens once a day normally. If it has not been more than 48 hours since it was accepted, it could just be that it has not synced in yet.)

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. We explorers haven’t figured out the schedule for syncing in new Power Spots, but it is not on a daily basis at this time.

If you would like to leave the title and location, someone here with access to external resources may be able to confirm if there is indeed an issue with the S2 cells. But since the sale to Scopely has affected these Niantic (now NianticSpatial) maps being updated, it may be more difficult. The gps coordinates where you pinned the Wayspot will be after the second photo in the email you received when you submitted the nomination, but the pin may have been moved in voting.

Do be aware this is a public forum if you would rather not reveal your location. I realize this is a lot of information to dump on someone, so please ask if you have more questions. Thanks @Cyndiepooh.

We no longer have a up to date map of waypoints but its possible that “NSW State Survey Mark SS110496” is in the same S17 Cell.

If this is correct then your waypoint will not become a pokestop / gym.

  • It may become a powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) in the future.
  • It could replace the current pokestop / gym if that is legitimately removed from game.

Good luck on future nominations.

Hey,

Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! While some nominations may be deemed eligible by the community of reviewers on Niantic Wayfarer for inclusion into Niantic’s location database, they may not necessarily be added into every Niantic game. After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.

The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms. If an existing game location is removed or the criteria changes, the nomination may appear within Pokémon GO at a later time.

Please keep in mind that while this is a common reason, it is not the only one.

Best,
