Pokestops…

2 Nominations accepted. Neither made it into Pokémon Go. Pretty frustrating for a small village with not many interesting things to nominate

You submit Wayspots not Pokestops. If the newly approved Wayspot is too close to another Pokestop or Gym, it may not appear in the game.

Are there any Pokestops or Gyms very close to the approved ones?

Hello,

PoGo uses S2 cells to determine which Wayspots appear in-game. 1 Wayspot is allowed per L17 S2 cell, becoming either a stop or gym, depending on the number of L17 cells with at least 1 Wayspot in them. It’s very possible that the L17 cells already have Wayspots in them, so no other stops/gyms can appear in that cell. More info on S2 cells and PoGo can be found here:

https://pokemongohub.net/post/featured/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

Keep in mind that unused Wayspot do get used as Power Spots from time to time, but there may be some restrictions, such as how close the unused Wayspot is to a stop/gym.

The Ingress intel map you screenshotted is getting increasingly out of date. Someone else might have submitted new wayspots, since the Ingress/PokemonGo split, which are blocking yours.

The only way of checking is to be there in person.

Hey,

Thank you for submitting a Wayspot nomination! While some nominations may be deemed eligible by the community of reviewers on Niantic Wayfarer for inclusion into Niantic’s location database, they may not necessarily be added into every Niantic game. After a nomination is approved by reviewers, there is an additional automated review that determines whether the nomination is an appropriate fit for each particular Niantic game. Each game has their own set of criteria for this step, so some nominations may be accepted into one game but not another.

The most common reason that an eligible nomination is not added to Pokémon GO is because the nomination is too close to existing PokéStops or Gyms. If an existing game location is removed or the criteria changes, the nomination may appear within Pokémon GO at a later time.

Please keep in mind that while this is a common reason, it is not the only one.

Moreover, it may take upto 48 hours for eligible nominations to appear on the gameboard after they are approved.

Best,

The Map is right there, there are no pokestops in the cells I submitted. The orange circles are the current pokestops. The red circles are my approved ones

When were these nominations approved? Has it been 48 hours since approval?

Welcome! It’s hard to judge who is familiar with what, we’re just trying to make sure you know the orange circles do NOT necessarily represent Pokéstops, and that this map increasingly does not represent all of them. Also, please check what has been said above regarding how long Pokémon GO sync can take.

Thank you for your reply, however, I am there in person right now. As seen on the screenshot, there are no stops within the cells I nominated. We have a lot of wayspots in our village, but barely any pokestops

The map you’re using doesn’t sync with the wayfarer database any more. The last sync happened around May 23rd.

That means there may be things that are in Pokémon Go that aren’t on that map.

Option 1: You haven’t waited 48 hours.

Option 2: Since the may you screen grabbed no longer updates with Wayfarer other waypoints could have been added to the game that are not shown on the map.

Option 3: (unlikely) The area is blocked due to land owner request, commonly round military bases but other areas can be the same.

24hrs, but when I check on the pogo app, they are there tagged ‘wayspot used in other niantic games’

That does not exclude they will eventually appear. This is generic wording that appears on all wayspots after approval before Pokémon GO sync happens. The appearance on the Pokémon GO duplicate check is instant, the appearance on the game map takes time.

That’s how they always show when they’re freshly accepted. You need to wait 48 hours as your acceptance email says. If they still don’t show up after that point, then they likely won’t be able to show up.

You will have to wait for 24 hours more to be certain. I believe this is why Aaron highlighted that part in his response.

Im in the area, the IITC map is synced for me, every orange circle on the IITC map is a pokestop on pokemon go

So, they could become a pokestop in 24hrs (approx.)? The reason I ask is because I am trying to populate my village with worthy Pokestops, but its off putting when they dont become stops

Well since you’re adamant there is nothing else nearby, this is what I would expect. Again for clarity, these will NOT show up on Intel.

This is what @NianticAaron said, so yes, wait another 24 hours.

The game syncs with the database once per day, usually around 7pm UK time (last time I checked, anyway). If your nomination is accepted close to this time, it might not be included in the sync for that day, but it will usually appear during the following day’s sync if it’s eligible to do so. Hence the 48 hour text in your acceptance email.
