In the Tennessee State Capitol building, second floor, under the dome… I was enchanted with this giant bas relief (at an anomaly in Nashville in December). The background heads are as big as mine (foreground, bigger). I took pictures, submitted with minimal text, and put it on hold so I could research.
It represents a significant moment in Black History, and all of America’s history - while pointing out that women still had to struggle. It shows black and white men lining up to vote (black male freed slaves for the first time), with black and white women still not allowed to vote.
