Blue Crest Hill waypoint removal was unwarranted

But then wouldn’t that be “game board abuse”? Specifically creating objects to create a wayspot?

That’s the excuse they used to strip away any and all mosaic tiles and little free libraries over here.

Not if the objects were created to benefit the community first and foremost.

The greater benefit is having things to enjoy in the local parks. Some signage would help the whole community look and feel more developed. Being able to make a way point out of it is just a new opportunity created by helping the community from my perspective.

I’m not sure about your specifics and don’t want to drag it into this thread but can try and reply in a broader sense.

Potentially abuse:
Painting stencils on the sidewalk in front of my house
Installing a LFL on the grass between sidewalk and road explicitly against my local ordinances and/or misplacing the pin to falsely represent location & access
Vandalizing graffiti on the utility pole in front of my house

Not abuse:
Asking the city to install educational signs on a trail
Asking my HOA to install a playground or LFL in a common area
Personally commissioning a mural on the side of my small business

Is the addition being done in earnest or can it be seen as a “cheap” attempt at gaming the system?

I do understand some of the complexity of the Netherlands(?) situation but at large it isn’t exactly the same.

The key phrases were
Get the backing of the local council and involve the community.

It was a fake wayspot with a fake Google Maps tag. Before it was removed on Google Maps, the reviews were tongue-in-cheek to give the place more credibility. There were multiple in the area all with the same handful of Google reviewers. At least one is still up as it is actually the park and not user-named areas of the same narrow park area.

The pin for the removed wayspot was place far below the hill to cover multiple private residences. It appeared when reviewing a similarly fake wayspot in the same area.

@MagmyGeraith
This case has been throughly looked at and your comments alleging it is fake are unhelpful.
