I was really hoping and thinking this would make a POI
It fulfills the eligibility criteria:
- a great place for exploration,
- a great place for exercise,
- and – considering how many walk in groups – it’s a great place to be social
It fulfills the acceptance criteria
- Must be a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area
- Must be safe and publicly accessible by pedestrians (indoor or outdoor)
- Must contain accurate information in the title, description, and photo.
And I cannot find that it meets any rejection criteria.
Still, it was rejected. I couldnt see a rejection reason, so I filed an appeal
Still rejected.
“The location of the submission does not match the photos, and/or map” .. What?
Is this some automated error and how can I then overturn it?
With wayspot submissions that are not obviously acceptable (churches, basketball courts etc), they often need to be sold well (you haven’t shown your description, only the brief supporting info).
When the location of something cannot be confirmed, it makes acceptance much less likely, which is the problem here. In the supporting text, a website link that confirms the supported climb exists would help, as would anything else that confirms the climb exists and exists at this location.
Are you nominating the chain or the trail? The chain itself doesnt seems distinct . How do we know that its part of the trail? The chain seems just infrastructure to help climbing. Personally i think u need placemarker for this to succeed.
In addition you might need gps tagged photo to prove that your submission in correct place

Hello and welcome,
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen chains that assist one while hiking with a Wayspot, or even reviewed anything like this. To me, they do seem indistinct, as they are an assistance device to help one get up the slope, similar to a railing for stairs. They may also help provide some safety, helping to keep you on the slope and not fall off of it.
When it comes to trails, trail markers may be eligible, along with other POIs, such as footbridges, picnic areas, and any scenic viewpoints with benches. I think a chain to assist in hiking might be seen as too indistinct to be accepted.
