My nomination for a big mural of Nils Holgersson got rejected for “being in a school zone”(?)
No, the mural is not inside a school zone. It is on the WALL on the BACK of the school. To add on, the primary school isnt even in use anymore and hasnt been for the past 5 years. Even after briefly explaining that in my appeal, they still rejected it doubling down on their invalid point of it being on an education facility. Below I will show a video of the “school” all around.
I really just want the community’s opinion too.

If any Niantic moderator sees this, just perchance, I can forward a pre-recorded video of me showing the “school” all around (I knew this would happen)
I have seen someone successfully post a video here, but I can’t remember how they did it. it might have been a link to something hosted somewhere else, but it might not have been. Sorry!
To reiterate - if the wayspot is inside the school or attached to the outside (e.g. wall, fence etc) then it’s ineligible. Mentioning “school” in your submission may also trigger the automatic filters, so I would start with finding out the current status of the building and working with that.
I’ve looked at the coordinates and cannot see anything there looking remotely like a school. The building that this mural is on the back of looks like it is probably abandoned, but I am very surprised anyone thought it was a school. I can’t even see it marked on OSM and it definitely isn’t marked on Google maps.
I’ve watched the video and although something that is further away from the building would work better, this does very strongly indicate this is not a school.
It’s not marked because it was never registered as a valid, verified school in the system viable for every student. Whenever I finished there, they also migrated into a bigger city. It was never permanent, and now just exists there as an event center.
The park is covered by three S2 L17 cells and has the potential for more than one wayspot.
The park itself could be a wayspot and features within it (the playground, the octagonal structure, a hexagonal covered seating area on the western edge) are separately eligible.
This would give you three pokestops and one powerspot.
You can have multiple wayspots in a cell, but (normally) only one would be used as a pokestop/gym. Extras will often be used as powerspots on rotation, so still have value.
I’ve already submitted the wooden kiosk you see on the side, the octagonal structure does not feature anything worthy. It was used for displaying a community christmas tree and or decorations for any holiday. It is no longer used now. In that outer cell, I’ve requested a park sign aswell, which you dont see
