Previously posted in the Vanilla forum, but I assume those appeals aren’t being addressed at all now?
First and last experienced: 2/4/24
Rejection email screenshots are not requested throughout the help chat title/description edit process, but they’re being rejected for being “in the wrong format”, without any opportunity to add this without starting the whole process over again.
The only instructions relating to attaching supporting evidence are these vague statements that suggest it’s optional and don’t specify any particular type of evidence or requirements.
This is a Niantic failure, not a user error, and needs to be corrected.
If the screenshots are needed, there needs to be an explicit instruction for this so that users aren’t wasting their time and being disadvantaged by this total lack of instruction.
So is something missing or do the staff need education?
Either way, I’d quite like my helpchat appeal rejection overturned because I don’t see why I should have to do it again
Is there a timeline for adding a section to Contribution Management for edit suggestions? This would help solve a lot of this type of confusion, as well as allow users to edit/delete edit submissions as needed, helping to improve overall submission quality.
Would also help if they didn’t tell you the appeal was in the wrong format because it requires something you weren’t asked for

…I still don’t know if resubmitting the appeal with the rejection email I do have will have a different result or not, @NianticAaron?
You get this response when you have an open edit submission for the same Wayspot. If this is the case, please wait for that open edit submission to get decided before you appeal.
“Thank you for your report. We can see that you currently have a edit submission in voting for this Wayspot. Please wait until that edit has reached an agreement, and then if necessary, you can re-submit this appeal.”
