We currently do not have any way to record a vote that a nomination simply does not meet any of the core acceptance eligibility criteria in review. The 2023 AMA said that we must choose one of the first four rejection reasons to reject a nomination, but nothing points new reviewers to this message. Voting thumbs down on the last three questions does not reject a nomination, although it would seem logical that it should not be a Wayspot if it does not meet any of these three criteria:
It has been suggested that we use “not Distinct” to reject something that just isn’t significant enough to be a Wayspot, but this is using that rejection reason in a way that goes against how the tool tip defines it. Many reviewers who do not seek outside help will never see the posts that it can be used this way. Others are just not comfortable with selecting this reason when the point of interest is “visually distinct enough to identify.”
May we please see either a return of the line item “Does not meet criteria” OR can thumbs down on the last three questions generat a pop-up that confirms we are rejecting the nomination? Or if neither of those can happen, can we get an update for the tool tip for “not Distinct” to indicate that it may be used if an object is not significant?
