I live in the Netherlands in a pretty far away area and I have all bicycle trails approved here. I do not know why yours are removed but as you can see bicycle trails are still getting approved.
In regards to the UK we have to consider the difference between a Cycling Route / Trail or a generic Cycle Path / Lane.
We often get nominations for what is either a path at the side of the road to be used by cyclist and pedestrians which may have a painted line to separate or even just a line on the road.
These are not a Cycling Route but just a way to get cyclist off the main road. Some nominators will try to sneak them past by calling them Routes when there aren’t.
More confusion is you may get a cycle path with a sign that states that the Cycle Route is another half mile away.
So the nominator needs to show, either with the images or text that it is a Route and not just infrastructure.
As all countries have their own methods I did not want to comment on your nominations directly as I don’t know the system used.
What I was trying to say using what I know, the UK system was that Cycle Trails / Cycle Paths are not always obvious and people have different thoughts on what are / are not acceptable.
I would appreciate it if, just like with a professional tennismatch, if you appeal an AI rejection, and the appeal is approved, you would get your appeal opportunity reimbursed.
I have noticed that upon a succesful appeal, I do get a reimburcement of the upgrade (when I used an upgrade)
Actually, there was a post from wayfarer staff at this forum where they stated this is policy, and I have had two appeals for an upgraded nomination, and in both cases, I did receive a reimbursement
Still, many users think that if the guidelines are met, the stop they submitted carefully will appear on the game. After submission and approval, they are aware of the existence of the cell and are disappointed, so they do not submit it again.
Thanks. This is valuable feedback that we have been expressing to Niantic in every conversation we have about needing a map. Though it is helpful for people to know that an approved wayspot that doesn’t show up as a pokestop or gym could show up as a power spot one day.
Currently, only a few pois are constantly appearing as power spots. Despite the many stops that have not already appeared. Also, because of political and military issues in Korea, Google Maps updates are so limited that a restaurant that disappeared 10 years ago has become a powerpot. Please inform users of the conditions for creating a stop in detail. Users expect their submitted nominations to appear in their games. For example, if a stop already exists in a cell and a new stop is applied and approved within 20m of that stop, it will not appear in either Ingress or Pokémon Go games, so who would want it?
Niantic have never made an official comments on what criteria will cause a wayspot to be used as a power spot, only players have noticed that some wayspots that are unable to be Stops / Gyms have become power spot.
Niantic have no power over world events. You can report incorrect spots for removal.
Although Niantic don’t always make it clear, most submitters are aware (and it is stated in “Accepted” emails) that they are nominating wayspots which may or may not appear in any Niantic / Scopely Game.
These are now owned by 2 separate companies. Wayfarer has gone with Pokemon Go to Scopely. Ingress was not part of the deal so that stayed (Now called Niantic Spatial). Nominations through Pokemon Go will not go to Ingress. Ingress has started to accept its own nominations but has not yet opened them for voting.
Not everyone nominates just for their game.
Some use Wayfarer as its own game and just hope to get the accepts.
Some may be used as power spots.
Some may later take the place of removed waypoints.
Scopely own other games that could also use them.
Scopely may create a brand new game that would use them.
I agree with you 100% been a wayfarer for about a week (after years of grinding) to be able to contribute to the community and make a great experience for everyone in the area… only to get legitimate stops get denied. Clear, concise, descriptions with fantastic photos. Following every guidline and fitting all criteria to be a legitimate pokestop to get denied in under 24 hours… but i definitely see Bathrooms, parking spot signs and several others that have been approved innthe past, even some in sketchy, dangerous areas that DON’T fit criteria to be a legitimate pokestop. Heck they even said i was denied for not fitting criteria… really? Sysytem is definitely broken and you can CLEARLY see that with spots in the wild… and to the wayfarers defending Niatic for our free labor, to a system that clearly needs improvements… shame on you.
Hello and Welcome @XxJoEkRxX
Just a quick comment when a submission gets denied within 24 hours and if the rejection says our team then that is an automatic rejection by the computer algorithm nickname Emily. Emily uses Machine learning and is constantly learning and adjusting responses as to what should be rejected.
This is a frustrating thing for everyone when it happens ( most of us have had it at some point) and we try to help each other to identify if there is an issue and how to change the submission so that it gets to community review. So if you would like to post in Nomination Support we will be glad to help.
I dont think anyone has said the system is perfect. Different wayfinders will have different experiences and therefore different priorities as to what they might want to see improve.
In Nomination Support you can take a screenshot of what you submitted so we can see your title, photo, description, 2nd photo and supplemental information. Many people here have a decade’s worth of experience getting things approved.
I’d also like to address your comment about “sketchy and dangerous areas.” There’s no specific Wayfarer guidance for nominating in “dangerous” neighborhoods. The only guidance is that the location must be safe for pedestrians. Then when we play the games, we are each responsible for our own safety and following local laws.
There are many places that some people call “sketchy” that are actually just low income and disenfranchised. People who live in those areas deserve places to play just as much as rich people. We try to make Wayfarer available to persons of all economic levels.
