There have some been issues in the zone I live regarding wayspot removal and fast rejection. Here’s the thing, the ingress players in my zone are blue and most of the other players in the area are green, so the green players come into town and start reporting most of the submissions existing in game, that promts lots of pokestops and ingress portals disappearing. After each disappearance of a pokestop I usually go to the place and submit a new request to get back the graffiti or mosaic tiles they reported, and here comes the fun part. The moment my submission enters wayfarer valoration they send messages to their telegram groups and massively report my submission or mark it as non relevant/temporal, making me unable to appeal to the submission. This have been going on for several months, the pokemon community in my town is already very tired and frustrated, as am I, and for the moment there seems to not be a light at the end of the tunnel. I tried reaching out to the ingress players to get some sense out of the situation, and the response I got was “they started first so now we take out all their portals” to sum it briefly. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and if you have any advise or you can provide with some kind of solution to this situation be free to share it with me.
Hi @Albertsub24 ,
It’s always disappointing when something is removed from the game map. But I have trouble believing it’s all about the other faction. Removal requests go through Niantic directly. For me it’s hit or miss if they take my requests!
The other thing to consider is that Niantic has been removing both mosaic tiles and graffiti (unauthorized street art), for the last 6 months or longer. So this may have nothing to do with other Ingress players.
I’d love to think it has nothing to do with the ingress players, however they admitted on reporting the in game content several times.
Even tho I know that the wayspot submissions go through niantic directly, when 20 or more players with access to wayfarer start evaluating submissions and whenever they find one coming from my town, straight report them.
Having said that, I didn’t consider the possibility you shared above, so I’ll just keep resubmitting the wayspots hoping for them to be found by fair wayfarers and coming back into the game.
Then I’d suggest you use the ‘Report Abuse’ form.
If you have evidence that any players are submitting abusive reports, you can either use help chat on the wayfarer site or the reporting abuse form at the top of the forum here.
Perfect, thanks, will try the wayfarer help chat. Hope for the best!!
Hi, just to complete what’s been said above, it’s not possible that specific rejection reasons, even coordinated, make you unable to appeal something. What likely rather happened is that you used the 2 appeals available to you over 20 days and have to wait until they replenish.
While of course we would need to see specific submissions to advise on their eligibility, I would also not be surprised if nonpermanent graffiti or tiles are just rejected or reported by the community as many of these objects indeed meet removal criteria. It’s much more complicated to get eligible objects maliciously removed or to control voting than you seem to think it is. You’re very welcome to post your nominations here so the community can help with making resubmissions bulletproof.
