Additional info:

Considering my fist attempt failed (Invalid Wayspot - The Getty Center), let me try again but with more details, cause apparently saying “Hey, the poster says this event ran from 2017 to 2018, so it must be gone now in 2024” is not enough.

Here’s the wayspot:

It only has one photo, and here it is:

Note the building in the background, the 4 colored columns on the poster, and the object under the poster.

If you look at streetview from where the wayspot is now - Google Maps – or from any nearby spot, you won’t see this building.

That’s because this building is located here – Bing Maps - Directions, trip planning, traffic cameras & more :

Here’s streetview of this building - Google Maps :

The poster was on the wall in the foreground of the above screenshot, as can be seen here - Google Maps :

You can see the same building, the same 4 colored columns on the poster, and the same object below the poster. Note the this view was taken in November 2017, during the event’s running time - from September 2017 to January 2018.

While the rest of the poster is hidden, the dragon and the cube on nearby posters are from the same Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA event. You can see the dragon here - Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA | Getty Projects :

…and the cube can be seen here - LA/LA: A CELEBRATION BEYOND BORDERS | Pacific Standard Time :

If you look at this wall on later dates, August 2019 for example - Google Maps, you won’t see this poster:

I recorded this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWpcMWjs9EQ - in 2024 for another wayspot, but on it I captured the wall, the building, and the same object but under a different poster (I guess it’s used as a weight to keep posters in place):

This wall is one of the first things you see when you get off the tram that takes you from the parking at the bottom to the Getty center at the top. I guess they figured this would be a good place to put posters that advertise different exhibitions and events. Sometimes there are no posters if there are no special exhibitions or events.

I hope all this is proof enough that the poster is gone now, so please remove this wayspot.

If you still don’t want to remove the wayspot for a long-gone poster, I hope I showed enough proof that the wayspot was created at a wrong location and should at least be moved to here:

Thanks for the appeal @Itsutsume We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.

@NianticAtlas Can you at least move it to where it was supposed to be (and from where it’s gone now?)?

@NianticAtlas OK, nevermind, I see you added a different photo and renamed it back to what it was.

The structure on the photo is the Research Institute:

And it’s already a wayspot:

(It was called Paul Getty Center, set 2009, and I renamed it to what it is now. Yes, I did, because that’s what it is - I was first told it’s the research center, but later found it’s supposed to be institute, not center.)

So this means the wayspot in question is now a duplicate. Please remove it.
