Legit or Not?

Hello everyone, I need your advice. Since I couldn’t find any information about my case under the criteria, I’d like to know if these two POIs would be interesting enough to submit. Personally, I think they qualify, but I don’t have much experience yet as I’m still quite new in this area.

I find the selection of criteria quite helpful, but I would actually prefer to have a few more positive and negative examples to get a better feeling for what is considered good and what isn’t. Maybe we as a community could expand this over time. For example, a bench might be acceptable or not depending on the location, dedication, or view.

POI 1

unique, public, encourages people to do sports and to explore

POI 2 women’s gym

The women’s gym, definitely!

I am having trouble pulling up any information on the “Body Style” place.

Oh if this is it, then I would submit this, too: https://bodystylecologne.de/

Assume the location is correct and the place exist, Gym is eligible as a great place to exercise, and potientally a great place to socializing.

This is from one of Niantic staff statement about business that promote exercise:

  1. Yes, it is a great place to exercise

  2. Yes, Chained Gym should be treated as a great place to exercise and not generic business(I saw California and I would assume you are wondering if chained gym is eligible)?

That is a great point. The community often misunderstand the “Generic business” rejection reason and rejects, especially if it is a chain. I always plan to appeal when I submit a gym business, but sometimes I don’t have to. They are definitely great places to exercise, and possibly be social if they offer classes, and possibly exploration if it is a unique form of exercise.

Exactly, there are gyms that have 2–3 branches in a city, compared to large chains spread across the entire country. That’s why it would be useful to know at what point a gym is considered a chain and when it isn’t.

For example, McFit would be accepted ?—they are represented all over Europe

I would submit them. They are great places to workout, and offer features most people can’t have in their homes. I have had acceptances of Workout Anytime, Anytime Fitness, RockBox Fitness, and O2 Fitness, to name some chains. I didn’t even have to appeal the Anytime Fitness!

I am a believer of ALL gym(not SFPRP) , no matter if it is Local or Chain, is a great place to exercise, or even a great place to socializing for people who want to build their body or improving / great place to explore if they provided special exercise.

There is really no rule to say “chained business” is not ineligible as an eligible wayspot either, they are harder to get because they are often harder to justify as one of three criteria.

So the Gym yes. But Make sure its a photo that clearly shows the name of the gym. A treadmill is a mass produced item.
