Nomination could be falsely accepted by AI auto accept or by community thats not aware ofSFPRP. Or the community might be aware but decide to accept anyway for gaming exp. But this doesnt make it eligible. Falsely approved wayspot might be removed if its reported

I came on to research the same thing. Mine was rejected and it’s truly in a public area, including where there is public parking available. It’s at an apartment complex community center.

I did not “sign on to” the LFL rules

When I started playing, this rule didn’t exist.

Changing the rules and retroactively deleting existing waypoints is not the same as no longer accepting new ones. Several waypoints that were well liked and causing no problems are gone now, and no one is happy about their elimination (including some of the property owners).

Zero tolerance rules are for intellectually lazy people who lack the judgement to differentiate between good and bad.

Hi @Fly4aWhiteGuy
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
As long as I know the rules of private property and/or safe access have been ever given.
And yes it’s always sad if a community loved wayspot is gone

When I started playing it was OPR days and you were encouraged to give certain things certain star ratings.

Wayfarer has to move with the times and people asked for clarifications about certain POI, but may not always get the answers they want.

Just have to follow what the current guidance is

Pretty sure that the Terms of Service (that we have all read repeatedly for every software update  ) there will be terms that Niantic are allowed to change the criteria / alter the rules or close the game down entirely whenever they wish.

Nobody signed on to the LFL rules as it was not needed, as Niantic can decide what is acceptable at any given time you did sign on to that Niantic can removed your favourite wayspot without giving you a reason.

Really shocks me how angry people can get because one small decision has not gone their way whether thats a removed wayspot or a refused nomination. :frowning:

Please remember to be respectful to your fellow wayfinders.

Wayfarer is mostly about reading guidelines and judgement calls, there are very few hard lines.
LFL are eligible objects, the key issue is if they are at an eligible location. You need both elements to have an acceptable submission.
There are also not many situations which will meet removal criteria but one of them is being on a Single Family Private Residential Property.
Those involve facts and not nuanced.
The opportunity is available if something is wrongly removed to request reinstatement. You provide proof the the location is ok and a wayspot can be reinstated. The team are willing to look at individual cases in the appeals section.

I appreciate that especially in the USA and the way its towns and cities are planned that there are areas with little scope for wayspots as it is pretty much solid SFPRP. However the situation developed out of a legal case as a result of a few inconsiderate players and when lawyers get involved there is no room for any flex.

Well appeal them - if they meet criteria then they will considered to come back I guess. Re nominate them. There are a host of ways to do that.

Actually - I don’t know what rule you are talking about.

And I rather suspect you did agree to a change in rules. Its in the terms of use

““Zero tolerance rules are for intellectually lazy people who lack the judgement to differentiate between good and bad.””

And who is this about because on its own - its just a random statement

Things change. Part of life. Rule change. Part of life. What communities think. Part of life. From driving a car to playing a game to your electricity provider. How things are perceived change. Part of life. I do it - we all do it.

All I was saying was that things are different in different countries. Laws are different. Therefor how LFLs are treated is different.
