Hey! I’m not sure if it’s okay to post here, but I was hoping that maybe someone could explain some things to me.
I was super excited about recommending places, because I live at the edge of a small town and the amount of PokéStops rapidly goes down around the area I live. So I started recommending places, but all of my suggestions got turned down for being culturally irrelevant or not unique enough, I tried to appeal once and added almost an entire essay about the history of the place etc but it still got denied.
Are there any tips you could give me? There’s a bike stand that somehow got approved, so I feel like I’m clearly doing something wrong…
Welcome to the forum! There are some great links to study that you can access from the Wayfarer sign-in page. But the number one thing to memorize is the core criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social.
You can’t always judge whether something is eligible by today’s standards by what you see in game. Criteria has changed over the last decade, and sometimes things are accepted incorrectly. Go back to that core criteria for your nominations.
A great way to become better at submitting is to review. That way you will see what helps to make it easy to accept a nomination, and what does not.
I read that and I kinda see why one of my suggestions got denied. Compared to other locations in the area it seemed totally valid to me, but without any knowledge of the area I can see why it could definitely look unfitting.
Also, should I just write everything in English? Wayfarer itself is in my native language so that’s the language I used for my suggestions, but I was looking at other people’s suggestions and just got a post in a foreign language that I simply couldn’t review.
I kinda want to give the location, I wrote an mini essay for and tried to make an appeal for earlier, again but it feels wrong after being denied twice already. Can suggestions be deleted? The one I tried to make afterwards got automatically denied for being against guidelines, but I don’t even know which one?
Tbh hats off to you guys, this is so much more confusing and frustrating than I imagined, I honestly admire you for being so passionate about it
You can write in any language that you want. Of course since we have community review, its preferably to write in language that local used because its easier. Some people tend to skip nomination that they dont understand
Anyway if you got rejected by AI, dont be discouraged. We dont know how it work nor should we know because its prone to abuse. But if you share your complete nomination, we might be able to guess
Anyway, just having rejected doesnt mean you should stop. Personally i have hundreds of rejection over the course of 11 years submission. Some of my nomination took several attempt before it got through
We all started with a narrow view of what was involved and made mistakes.
That is why so many are happy to help others as they know and appreciate the help they have had.
Try to take it one nomination at a time.
If you are not sure what to nominate and are happy to share the broad location we help identify good nominations.
A good photograph is really important it’s the first thing the reviewer sees and instantly creates an impression not just about the object but the care and effort taken.
If you can make nominations it is very satisfying to be able to spin something you created.
