Niantic unbanned many permanently terminated Pokemon Go players's wayfarer Accounts?

We want to understand niantic & their motives. Many of our friend’s Pokemon go accounts were terminated by niantic saying they used unauthorised apps or broken TOS without even knowing why people break TOS or cheat. They made appeals & only bots replied them saying they broken TOS & asked to make new account & play. Ofcourse many quit game because it’s not worth it to make new account & play after spending so much on game.

Funny part happened was recently they said their wayfarer account were unbanned by niantic but their Pokemon go or ingress account still had permanent ban.

So what’s purpose of this? Niantic doesn’t want them to play their games on their existing high level account but want them to use that account to do POI nomination reviews so that others can enjoy game ? Do they want free labour…?

Proof that niantic doesn’t read problems of people who make ban appeals & only bots responses https://youtube.com/shorts/n5nu1dTfmPE?si=V1xhZgq_UiqiOg5E

Reason for posting this here is because there is no other way to reach employees of niantic…

Is this glitch? Or niantic decided to unban all in just wayfarer so that they need them.

Ofcourse niantic terminated people’s account saying people broken TOS & they wanna be fair for all…

But in reality niantic isn’t fair for anyone. They thought adding new pokestops would make game fair for all…but in reality game isn’t fair for anyone in village players… infact lack of players make it difficult to do legendary or bigger raids… niantic may be say they added remote raid pass but it’s not making game fair because those raid passes are more expensive than green pass. Game is also unfair because people go for work, or schools & reach home late & by that time most raids or community events are already over in their villages, so they spoof to do raids or play in those events …in big cities there are always people who would lure particular spot or do raids somewhere, so they have unfair advantage on people who live in villages with no players to do raids there.

Niantic should unban all players & give them one more chance, because people invested lots of money & years in game. Specially those who helped niantic build game by adding new POI & doing reviews on wayfarer.

I am feeling sad for people who just quit game after their account were terminated.

& Yeah we have confirmed it with many people that terminated players can now log in wayfarer account. Reason we went to check is we saw one post here on same topic & decided to test ourselves.

Hello and welcome @SunWuKong07

This question and its content has been asked before.

You should find your answers there,

I have seen those sir but no answer or confirmation was given by niantic. Niantic gave confirmation but with verification. You can check those earlier post. Some questions have been closed without proper discussion or clarifications. Its true niantic is avoiding this because they wanna exploits people into free labour but prevent them from playing game.

That’s not true at all. Anyone who is suspended from our games is ineligible to access Wayfarer. This is by design. If someone is able to access Wayfarer even after their suspension from games, that’s a bug and we would want to fix that ASAP.

Sir if it was but then why people were allowed to review & given code as reward in games for participating in wayfarer challenge? Or they wanted to unban them just for wayfarer challenge due to less participants? Or they wanna ban them again because most of nominations are cleared? And those people’s votes & reviews did got added to decide nominations … would you all minus them from existing Nominations that aren’t approved? Or minus from what is approved & put accepted waypoints in nominations? We have proof of all this things…

Also these people couldn’t use wayfarer when their accounts were terminated but as soon as wayfarer challenges begin they could which clearly shows niantic wants free labour.

If you all took their help during wayfarer challenges then it will be eithical to unban them & let play games because games itself aren’t fair for everyone…

Yes people cheat … because game isn’t fair for them & those in big cities …let’s he practical…most of games even happens during day time & most people work or go to college. How it is practical to play game ? Try to live in their villages and play game & survive playing it without spending real money.

Bug did niantic’s work easy by clearing backlog…how let those people play as well …

Also if you see punishment on wayfarer & punishment for game, all are different… On wayfarer they have ladder system which have more than 3 ladder & on game it’s just 3 strikes…why wayfarer offence get more chances to improve? Because niantic need people to use wayfarer. Wayfarer punishment page also says this "

Wayfarer Abuse Enforcement Ladder Policy

Last Updated: 111d

At Niantic, we strive to create an equitable, accurate and unbiased map for all players and explorers.

Niantic Wayfarer is a platform that allows our explorers community to update the Niantic Map, and we are committed to supporting them in doing so in a fair and unbiased manner. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of location-based and augmented reality gaming.

As part of that commitment, we enforce a punishment ladder against most types of abuse. This policy may provide offenders with disciplinary actions proportional to the severity of the offenses they perform. This means that a first time offender can be punished with any of the disciplinary actions listed below depending on how severe their offense was.

Additionally, repeated offenders will see their punishment gradually increase in severity while providing multiple opportunities to change their behavior. Every enforcement will be accompanied with a notification to inform and educate the offenders on their policy violation. If offenders reform their ways, they are welcomed back into the platform.
However, if offenders continue abuse, they will be permanently removed from our platform and games in accordance with the Niantic Terms of Service.

For the purposes of this policy, we define abuse as behaviors that violate the Niantic Terms of Service and Player Guidelines, such as (non-exhaustive examples):

  • submitting fake data to the Niantic Map
  • promoting hateful or harmful content
  • accessing Wayfarer clients or backends in an unauthorized manner, including through the use of third-party software or add-ons.

Ladder steps 1: Warning

Disciplinary actions:

If this punishment is issued, you will receive an email to the email address associated with your Wayfarer account informing you that we have detected abusive activities on your account.

Ladder steps 2: 30 days Suspension

Disciplinary actions:

If this punishment is issued, you will:

  • receive an email to the email address associated with your Wayfarer account informing you that we have detected abusive activities on your account and that you have been suspended
  • Be suspended from all our games and from Wayfarer for a duration of 30 days. When attempting to log into the game, you’ll be presented with a message stating that your account is suspended. You will not be able to bypass this message.

Ladder steps 3: 90 days Suspension

Disciplinary actions:

If this punishment is issued, you will:

  • receive an email to the email address associated with your Wayfarer account informing you that we have detected abusive activities on your account and that you have been suspended.
  • Be suspended from all our games and from Wayfarer for a duration of 90 days. When attempting to log into the game, you’ll be presented with a message stating that your account is suspended. You will not be able to bypass this message.

Ladder steps 4: 10 years Suspension

Disciplinary actions:

If this punishment is issued, you will:

  • receive an email to the email address associated with your Wayfarer account informing you that we have detected abusive activities on your account and that you have been suspended.
  • Be suspended from all our games and from Wayfarer for a duration of 3650 days. When attempting to log into the game, you’ll be presented with a message stating that your account is suspended. You will not be able to bypass this message.

Redemption period

With the exception of those who have been sentenced to a 10-year suspension, offenders who have behaved impeccably for a period of one year will have their previous offense forgiven. This means that their account returns to a clean slate level and their previous offenses will not cause them to have stronger punishments, should they misbehave again.

We understand that mistakes can happen and believe in giving second chances. We want to encourage users to learn from their errors and become valuable contributors to the Wayfarer community."

Because niantic wants people on wayfarer…why not give chance to game offenders also ?

Check some of screenshot & also check youtube link above.

@NianticAaron NianticAaron hahaha. My post was closed twice without discussing anything. Now reply on this big article & screenshot by sunwukon07 .

I too can clearly see different punishment for offenders of wayfarer & offenders of games. Why offenders of wayfarer has better punishment system? I like ladder system. most important I miss our friends who lost their accounts. @NianticAaron we challenge you to survive playing Pokemon go in our village for just one month & prove game is fair for all…

That’s a bug. We have identified it now and have reported it to be fixed.

No, it doesn’t work that way. Anyway, your accounts were terminated for in-game violations outside the scope of Wayfarer.

That’s not an excuse for cheating.

That’s not true for all cases. Punishments in Wayfarer correspond to the magnitude of abuse.

Just wanted to let you know that I have access to both the account details.

Not my account. Some people whom I know their account. I never played Pokemon go.ok so it was bug & you all will fix it.

But how you gonna make up for people who did reviews on wayfarer even when their accounts were under suspension.???

Its like their time & energy was used. may be they did reviews thinking their ban is removed.

In end you all win because niantic work was done. After work was done it’s tata bye bye for them once more.

Cheating is big term…in reality those poor people just wanted to play which was not possible for them to play because of time or money or limited resources (players in this case)

@NianticAaron which both accounts? & My account is not terminated…I posted after hearing on this frustration from one or two persons in my village…

@NianticAaron ok what about contribution of people who cheated? I mean like they cheated but they also built community around…like submitted lots of POI or did lots of reviews…? Will their contribution stay in game ? Or it should be also removed since it was submitted by cheaters?

& When you say cheat…who do they cheat exactly…?

Do you get any reports from people saying they have problem with the way those people played?

Why this is unfair is because game isn’t fair for all people…

Also lots of more people cheat but only few get punished & rest enjoy…

I believe everyone should be given chance…like even after 3 strikes they should be given to play again after certain number of days or months… because people invest lots of money & most important time in this game…

Someone who can play at maximum potential of game won’t cheat …

But those who can’t play game at full potential will either cheat or leave game…

Like I gave eg. Those who won’t can’t participate in raids or community days or raid hours …

Visit in rural areas…stay there for a week & see… problem is never lack of pokestops…its lack of players…

Please reach out to the Pokémon GO support with your feedback. Your account was suspended for violations in Pokémon GO.

Not my account…& Pokemon go support teams are bots … reason I posted here because niantic employes can talk casually about problems faced by people to concerned teams at meetings or parties or annual picnics…who knows one day u might get transferred to those division…
