I submitted a POI for a memorial/pride bench that also has a picnic area and a small community garden near it, but my submission was rejected by the AI so I appealed it, but it was then rejected for being on ‘private single-family residential property’.
But it is not located at a single family home, I understand with the siding it may not look like a traditional public building but it’s one of the few public buildings located on the island reserve and there are not many opportunities for POIs on the island. I included a photo showing the sign and the parking lot.
I don’t want to resubmit again for it to be rejected, hoping someone here can offer some advice. Not sure what else I can do.
hmm…the main photo does look like someone’s backyard at their home, but the description does not sound like SFPRP (single family private residential property)
could you share the gps coordinates where you put the pin? they will be in your submission email under the supporting photo. it looks like the island has satellite view but no street view
okay that should have been clear to the appeals reviewer that it is not SFPRP from the parking areas. i have seen cases where niantic has overturned an incorrect appeal decision after posting here, but not many.
in case they don’t reverse the appeal rejection, we would need to see more of your original nomination to help you with advice on resubmitting. you said that you submitted the bench, so let me post the clarification on those:
if i were submitting the bench in your main photo, i would have the focus include less background, possibly cropped to square, more like the example photo in that clarification
for your supporting photo, i can barely see the bench so i would make sure to point out that it can be seen along with the sign in the supporting text. i might try a landscape oriented photo, and might even add an arrow like i did for this supporting photo
(you can’t edit your photos once you have submitted fyi. i take my photos before i begin my nomination so that i can choose the best one and make any adjustments needed before i submit. i submit with minimal text and edit and add links like the one you gave above to the supporting statement from my contributions page on the wayfarer site so that i can use my computer instead of my phone.)
