Sorry, I’m going to disagree that this is art. This is just a patterned sidewalk (or pavement). The tiles are mass produced and they don’t form any kind of overall image. Sure, they are a little bit more interesting to look at than poured concrete, but I would not point this out to a visitor. I mean, I would if I were trying to sell them an apartment in the building (assuming that’s an apartment building), but that’s not what Wayfarer is for.
I like submitting cool courtyards, but I don’t even see this space as functioning as a courtyard. It’s just a path to get from one place to another. Courtyards would offer some gathering space for people, which this doesn’t seem to do.
I can’t write the whole thing for you, partly because I would struggle to accept this if I was reviewing it, but you seem to want to give it a try I do however disagree that this is just a patterned pavement, because tiled pavements are definitely not common. (Certainly not anywhere near me, but that could be different in different parts of the world.)
“Typical for apartment complexes in India and Southeast Asia.” In my experience, this would also be typical in places like South Florida or anywhere coastal or that has a lot of sun.
