Unfortunately not everything is a great place to socialise, exercise or explore, and those are the eligibility criteria for new wayspots (as well as needing to not meet any of the rejection criteria).
If you’ve had nominations rejected, you are welcome to reach out in the Nomination Support category and get some advice on why they might’ve been rejected and what can be improved. We might even be able to help you find other local things that do meet the criteria.
I would suggest you try to be a little less disparaging about the community, though.

Are your nominations being rejected with “Wayfarer criteria” on the contribution and “our team” in the email? That usually indicates that Niantic’s ML (machine learning ai) model is rejecting them, not the community.
If you are referring to replies about criteria on this forum, that is not the community being picky. That is the community trying to help fellow explorers submit nominations that are more likely to be successful.
