So after awhile of playing I have been able to go through my local communities and try and at spots to help grow my Pokemon go community because I live in a very small town/rural area but anything that I am trying to get added was at first being rejected by voting but now it is just niantic shooting everything back when I have started posting major building and signs of things that I have seen there be poke stops for in other towns. Please explain to me why nothing is getting accepted especially for a rural/small town area with basically no poke stops in it whatsoever!
Hey, welcome!
These dont look like great places to explore, exercise, or socialise which are the 3 key criteria. So its correct that these were not accepted.
We can help with suggestions for better things to nominate and how best to write them up as a submission if the area youre hoping to submit in is similar to these nominations
Welcome to the forum!
That “Wayfarer criteria” rejection at around 20-24 hours after the nomination was submitted with an email from “our team” usually indicates a rejection by the ML (machine learning ai) model.
For the water tank, how do you feel this meets any of these acceptance criteria from Niantic Wayfarer
Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria
- A great place for exploration
- A great place for exercise
- A great place to be social with others
Judging by what already exists in game is not always reliable, since criteria have changed over the years, and some things get accepted that should not have been.
The “Visit Downtown” sign does not appear to have safe pedestrian access. Can you provide evidence that it does?
Welcome @HurricaneDemon
Nominating can be very rewarding as it builds the board for your game(s) of choice. But can be frustrating too.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Not everything you see currently in game other places is currently eligible. Eligibility has changed over time. And some things can slip in anyways.
- Remember that current eligibility is a Great place to Exercise, Explore, or be Social with others. I like to think about if I’d recommend a friend from out of town going to the spots or not.
- Niantic is using Machine Learning (ML) to go through nominations. It can be more stringent on photos than a community vote often is. So we can help you frame things better if we have specific examples.
There are many other tips and tricks we can share! I’m glad you are here, keep asking questions. We love to help.
Adding a great conversation we have had about more rural areas:
To the right it a decent sized parking lot with plenty of space for people to gather to see the sign
Safe pedestrian access has to be AT the sign. I know Pokemon Go has a generous interaction distance, but other games require you to be right at the Wayspot.
Assuming Im in the right area, what about Bee Noodle’d as a social spot? Looks like somewhere Id enjoy visiting to meet a friend. Or coffee shop opposite?
It looks like theres a post office maybe, that can be a good option too
Also the baptist church?
I think none of those are already waypoints
I will look into that stuff once I get some time in the next few days
Hopefully its helpful! Popular local restaurants and cafes can make nice submissions for social, as can churches or other religious buildings. I can see some of your churches are already waypoints but I dont think all of them are.
Let us know if you want some help - you can share pictures here and we can advise on what will show up and what won’t if youre a Go player
