I submitted 16 photos at pokestops today, and they all got uploaded at once when I was on wifi.
Of what was approved immediately, only about half showed in the Wayfarer map. The other half, I can’t see.
Others have told me they can see the photos and upvote them. …But I don’t see those upvotes in PoGo, though all other upvotes from the day show up fine. I had them double check that they didn’t upvote the wrong photo.
I know y’all are looking into a disconnect between PoGo and Wayfarer updating cover photos, and maybe this is related, I figure it’s worth bringing up in case it’s not.
The photos were uploaded midday today, it is now midnight and nothing’s changed.
I’m on Pixel 7 Pro running Android 16. I’ve accessed Wayfarer from both my phone and my PC.
I’m on Pokemon Go version 0.417.1-G-64

so the full story with these photos I uploaded is that I realized square photos are great, and cropped existing photos in my phone. they had already been uploaded as pokestop photos in their normal orientation, and I re-uploaded them cropped square. since they weren’t exact duplicates and otherwise improved current photos, I thought it’d be fine.
some came through fine, some show the issue I expressed.
the additional weirdness I’m seeing with Frank Beverly is that both the old AND the new snowy picture show cropped square in Wayfarer. the older one should show portrait orientation.
RedHill Springs Gazebo, is also showing up today… without votes on that one image.

this is one my friends assured me they could see and upvote a square photo, but I saw upvotes on the cover (which is portrait). now I show the square photo without votes. it shows correctly to me, I’m wondering if it showed weird to them like Frank Beverly is to me now.

I see that the information shown in the Wayfarer Map is accurate apart from the cover photo issue. That’s a known issue and we are working on a fix.
They are appearing in the correct orientation for me.

I added a photo yesterday but it doesn’t show up on the gallery. If I click on the photo, I can “scroll” to my new one:
It seems that in the case by @ShaelynTheFae it eventually showed up, however mine is still not in the gallery.
I see both images in the Wayfarer Map. Are you saying that the image doesn’t show-up in game?
I suspect this is what is happening in your case:
There is a server response which loads the initial Wayspot details (title, location, Pokemon Go status, cover image, whether it is community contributed, and whether it has additional photos). This response updates with new Wayspot details once per day (i.e. map sync).
There is a different server response which happens when you click the Wayspot which loads the image details (all the image URLs, acceptance date, submitter, and votes). This updates regularly, based on the ability to see other people’s votes after a few minutes.
If you have just added a photo to a Wayspot which used to have one image, then the first server response I indicated probably still says hasAdditionalImages = false, as this only gets updated once per day. The new image is in the poi-images response, but because it wasn’t expecting additional images, it doesn’t try to show the gallery on the sidebar.
Once you are in the gallery though it must use the details from the more recent poi-images result, which means the photo now appears.
