Pokéstop Submission

Come on people everytime I nominated a Pokestop it was always rejected kind a disappointed of it

Do you want to share your nominations for some suggestions on what to try next?

Welcome to the forums

The best way to think about wayspot submission is “what would make a good wayspot” rather than “I want this to be a wayspot”.

In order to be accepted, a wayspot has to not fail any of the rejection criteria

  • it has to be safely accessible to pedestrians
  • it can’t be on school grounds, single-family private residential property, farmland
  • it has to exist at the location given
  • it has to have a reasonably accurate title and description
  • the photo cannot contain licence plates, identifiable people, unnecessary animals

It also has to meet one of the key criteria

  • Exploration
  • Exercise
  • Social

Something can pass all the rejection reasons but still not be eligible because it simply isn’t meeting criteria. Please have a look at these for understanding what makes a good wayspot.

Hello and welcome @Jepongalo

It’s nice to hear from a new wayfinder, even if the circumstances are not good.

This community will be happy to help but can you provide some examp,es including the rejection reasons

This!!!

I just wonder what is wrong with this photo it is actually a display on a road going to the park but the community didn’t accept it please any suggestions?

Can we see your full submission? I can’t tell what this is from just the photos.

That rejection reason means that it has not been seen by humans. Niantic’s “automated process” is a machine learning model. It also could not identify this as anything that it recognized as potentially eligible.

Can you put into words how you think this rock meets any of the eligibility criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social? I just see a rock.

It would also be helpful to know the location so we can check it on the map. I can’t tell if this has safe pedestrian access or if it is in front of someone’s house.

Okay, thanks.

It seems this was rejected by the automated process- probably for the same reason I asked you for more information, that it wasn’t sure what it was. No humans saw this in voting.

You cropped the title out, but to me this looks like a rock in a flower bed, so I am not sure what criteria it really meets.

In order for someone else to look on google maps, the co-ordinates are much more useful.

Click on google maps on the location of this wayspot and you can get a set of co-ordinates.

Thanks for the location screenshot. This looks like it is in front of someone’s home to me. If it is, then single family private residential property is not eligible. Here is a clarification on that:

The gps coordinates would be more useful. You can get them from google maps as instructed or from the submission email after the photos, like this:

There are some interesting Google labels nearby. Have you checked out either the “museum” or the “jogging path”? Sometimes google labels are wrong.

I think the location is 14.610183, 121.097282 ?

@cyndiepooh how did you identify this as SFPRP? The google aerial view doesn’t make this look residential (the pin just below “Nice Fox Freight”)

@Jepongalo my take is that the ML system didn’t see anything eligible. This is a fairly nice garden display, but isn’t an intentionally public space and the only object that could be focussed on is just a standard rock that can be bought in several places.

My map took me to a 3rd location

The general area indicated by copying the address looked like residential to me and i thought i had identified the right angle the road takes. Maybe not. Will leave to you. I get very disoriented on maps.

Ignoring the google maps view and looking at the aerial view, where the roofs help somewhat with identification and there are tags for businesses scattered around, I cannot confidently say this is residential. I am leaning towards it being business premises.

What’s the octagon covered court? Seems to be a potential good submission if its a sports place, and its right next to what you tried? The name of the area on the roof seems cool too

There is also “breathe yoga” on your map screenshot, and yoga studios can make great submissions too
