Removal appeal because I never meant for it to be deleted

  • Wayspot Title: Korskyrkan
  • Location (lat/lon): 63.569813,19.504850
  • City: Nordmaling
  • Country: Sweden
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any): I reported that the gym called Korskyrkan in Nordmaling is no longer used as a baptist church (They still have a information board next to the entrance). Instead a locally reputable business have taken over the lower floor. The house itself is one of the oldest buildings in Nordmaling. Built in the 1700’s. It is an officially protected building for its cultural and historical value.

It is a publicly accessible place and its a safe location. It has value and meaning for the local community.

I would like it restored but with changed information so it doesnt say “Nordmaling baptist congregation”

Heres the information about the business that is posted on Google maps:
Anettes Byggnadsvård Antikt & Inredning is centrally located in Nordmaling, Hammargatan 4, diagonally behind Näslunds konditori. Here you will find everything in building conservation, antiques, interior design, local crafts and health products. Courses are also held here in, among other things, window renovation, stencil painting and herb walking, also keep an eye out for various events. The store is unique and should be experienced! Here you can stop in and sample a cup of chaga tea, try on vintage clothes or just enjoy the cozy atmosphere. Open all year round, a warm welcome!

When a Wayspot is no longer the point of interest that was accepted, then trying to repurpose it as something else is considered abuse. So I understand why Wayfarer staff removed the Wayspot instead of changing the description.

Are you saying that the Wayspot was for the historic building, and not the church congregation that met there? That is an interesting situation, and I hope staff will reconsider the decision to remove it if so. IDK how to show the Wayspot was for the building if the description was about the church congregation.

I think the removal is correct, as it sounds like the Wayspot was for when the building was used as a church, but now it’s just a historical building. Those are 2 different types of POIs in my view, so if you would still like a Wayspot for the building, I do believe you’ll have to submit a new one just for the building, since it’s used by a business now.

Thanks for the appeal, @SysterYr. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire the Wayspot in question.
