Removal Appeal for Hartland Lakes Estates Rock Sign

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Hartland Lakes Estates Rock Sign
  • Location (lat/lon): 42.627555,-83.729758
  • City: Hartland
  • Country: USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):

This way spot should be removed for numerous reasons.

  1. The pinned location is in the street making for unsafe access.

  2. The correct location looks to be on single family private residential property. There are single family homes on either side of the rock.

  3. In addition to these location issues, the rock itself does not meet any criteria for being a great place to explore, exercise, or socialize. It is merely a marker for a very small residential neighborhood.

Watching this one! Here is the portal photo for anyone curious

@cyndiepooh i know, you know :sunglasses: but just remember any decision about this wayspot is simply a decision about this wayspot.
It won’t provide any general ruling about these signs in general no matter which way it goes.

I still want to know what they do. The last one I reported for removal but was also mispinned they simply corrected the pin and kept the Wayspot. A friend who was not the submitter got a couch Pokestop from that move and sends me gifts from there regularly. See: Preston Peninsula Entrance is not there

I am so tempted to start submitting the hundred or so subdivision signs I can walk to because they are being accepted and not being removed, but I won’t submit something I don’t feel meets criteria. But if I become convinced that Niantic wants these in game …

If Niantic didn’t want these in game, they’d remove them the same way they remove trail markers and golf tees.

Thanks for the appeal, @sunkast. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.

I don’t think this is a good decision fwiw. Does this mean I should be adding all the neighborhood signs I see?

Good to know that something pinned in the street, whose actual location is on SFPRP, doesn’t meet removal criteria.

Now it’s your turn! What context should you have provided here to forestall the inevitable community response that occurred without that context?
