Scenary benches and Emily

Scenary benches and Emily are not a great combination.

I have been starting to submit multiple scenary benches the last couple weeks. The views on these are stunning and are great wayspot which I have gotten accepted a couple of times through appeal already or through internal review.

BUT, im so sick of Emily always rejecting my scenary benches while they are great nominations. It does not matter which submission I make, it just gets rejected always. I have tried different photo’s with nominations, but no matter.

the problem becomes that I have to waste my appeals on these every single time I submit them, because this stupid AI does not know the criteria itself.

I have been here long enough to understand that Emily does good things as well with rejecting nominations that should not reach voting, but using appeals on every single scenary bench I submit is totally ridicilious.

maybe im getting nowhere with this topic, but im so frustrated with it. I am doing good things, and submitting and then they don’t get appreciated, because a stupid AI does not understand me.

just for clarification: Appeals are so valueable to me. I need like 20-40 minimum nowadays. It’s getting less fun to submit whe you know you have to use an appeal you do not have,

I recently had this accepted and it got past the ML. I can look for some other examples too as I’ve also done quite a few the last month or so. Maybe I was lucky?

Here’s a few others that all went past the ML.

I’m not sure exactly what triggers the ML to reject, it’s definitely annoying :yellow_heart:

Can you post some that the Machine Learning model is rejecting? The last few Pokestops at our local park that have gone live are benches that meet no criteria in my opinion, so I doubt they were appeal decisions. I wonder if the focus has to be more on the bench than the view for the nomination to get past the “automated process” rejection.

Mine do all have the bench quite prominent in the picture, so that is a good theory?

Some of mine are in fact generic memorial benches but the views are all explore-worthy in my opinion so I nominated them for the view and ignored the plaque on them entirely

Here is the most recent example for this.

I always do the bench in full with the wayspot photo, including view if possible.

Still can’t believe that amazing view

Can’t really get back easily to this location as well, that’s why it was even more frustrating this time.

I will edit in some more examples here:

The only one not rejected by Emily since internal review picked it up. Thank god.

Here is a similiar one.

It’s a shame that this would not be easy to resubmit. I would like to see if this photo as the main would get through the ML check.

I don’t think this photo conveys the view.

That’s a very pretty view! I think I would have used that gorgeous first supporting photo as the main? Are you within 10km to try a resubmission switching the pictures around? Unsure itll allow it through but worth a try?

LOL dodgy work Internet, didn’t see your reply.

Could have just written “I agree with Cyndie”

I didn’t see yours either. I could have also said I agree with frealafgb.

I have multiple photo’s of the bench from the back and I can use the wayfarer websubmit to try again…

Im just barely within 10KM

This post has been edited now.

Ooh that’s lucky!! I would try that swap and see if it helps - its really the only noticable differences between ours? I hope it works for you :crossed_fingers: I would accept these kinds of submissions, because if I was walking in the area I’d definitely want to go over to these views and sit for a while to enjoy them - especially by the water.

Only have 1 submission by the water.

But I think you would love this one.

I would agree with both @cyndiepooh and @frealafgb :joy:

Just back from a walk and I intend to submit this

I just need to do the select pictures routine.

I LOVE the meadow view there! Stunning :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

Guess im gonna try this as a new method now.

Will do it some time later.

I do be wondering. The main photo should get the object in full, if im taking a picture of the back it does not really show what im submitting, so I thought it was not the best approach.

You’re right, I do :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The way I look at it is I’m submitting the view, with the bench as the physical object that I place the pin on. Hence why I’m framing mine this way. I do still have to appeal some but my recent tries have all got past the ML at least :yellow_heart:
