I know I probably shouldn’t ask this here, but I also wanted to hear other people’s opinions. Do you think it’s worth nominating other points even if they don’t appear in Pokemon GO!? Or is it better to leave them as they are without “filling the map”?
I am a bit confused by the question you are asking. Are you asking if you see a POI in a park that you think are eligible, should you submit them if they don’t appear in Pokemon Go? If so, even if they don’t appear as active Pokestops, Gyms or Power Spots, I would submit. We don’t know what Niantic will do in the future when it comes to introducing new features that may take advantage of those nominations.
In my view, I’d submit. They may get used by Pikmin Bloom, Monster Hunter Now or any upcoming games in future.
I think it’s a personal decision.
There is no obligation, it’s neither good or bad in my view.
There are always limiting factors to consider.
What is your supply of nominations like?
May some of these be edge cases that might need an appeal?
Is your priority ( and your time ) with this area or other places?
I often take a lot of pictures at places of everything that meets criteria.
Then my priority is to select ones with probably smoothest journey into the game. I want to improve the gameboard for those in that area.
Then I can draft / or keep the others for when I have capacity.
That way I manage my wayfarer resources.
If it is really cool, I add it. Even if the only game you play is Pokemon Go, we never know what is going to happen in game. If an existing Pokestop or gym is moved or removed, the Wayspot will be live in place and ready to be promoted if it becomes eligible by inclusion rules. And we didn’t know Power Spots were going to be a thing until they were. I was very glad I had added a lot of Wayspots that did not show in Pokemon Go when those went live. Who knows what else Pokemon Go may have in store for us?
Are you thinking of Peridot - which stayed with spatial anyways
I doubt it.
I’ve read that there’s hints of a new feature in datamines but won’t spoil anything.
That’s fair. Let’s hope what I heard is incorrect…
Anyways wandering off topic ![]()
Apologies.
