Trail marker wrongly rejected by the community and the appeal reviewer

You’re not reading the original post I liked fully, nor takinin account the trail markers clarification. This is what myself and @shritwod were going off of, which is a staff post:

I hope this clears things up for you. It’s most likely why your nomination was rejected in the first place, as you can provide links in supporting info to show they are trail markers and not directional signs. I provide links quite often for my nominations for additional context.

I also didn’t continue to follow the thread after the 2nd post. Many of us may like a comment but never follows what happens later.

Ok but do these look like the one I posted?
These don’t have the distance, the name of the trail, etc.
They are clearly different. Even to a non expert eye. A reviewer and especially an appeal reviewer should be able to tell immediately if it’s a trail marker or not.

And about adding more info, yes it could be useful but I have had many cases of things rejected multiple times even when the nomination was perfect (back in the day I used to create photospheres for every waypoint not shown in street view and like half of the times they would be rejected anyway.)

Edit: Copied from the post you shared: This marker includes various official logos, a trail name, direction arrows, specific places, and distances that are clearly unique to this location

Now look at my marker: it has the official logo, the trail name, direction arrows, specific places and distances uniques to the location lol

To the average reviewer, they look like directional signs per the criteria clarification. The link for the trail would’ve been very helpful in showing that they are indeed trail markers.

Also, no nomination is ever guaranteed to be approved, even with something like a photo sphere.

Again, I don’t review many trail markers in the part of the US I live in, and am going off of what Niantic has clarified. I have nothing left to add.

I am going to close this topic as the appeal has been heard and an answer given.
If people wish to have a more general discussion about trail markers, then Please do start a separate topic in the general section.
