Wayfarer Pet Peeves

For me, I don’t have baseball fields nearby (UK) so can’t comment on that one.

For trailmarkers, I go with a nearby distinguishing feature or street name and add that to the title such as “Enwa Way Trailmarker (Kissing Gate)” or “The Flour Walk (Muffin Street)” to give them unique titles.

But have other sports pitches. Aren’t they ever in groups in a park that has no obvious names for each? I personally prefer North Basketball Court, etc, but sometimes that’s just not practical.

I would normally just nominate ‘Football pitches’ etc and not differentiate them by numbers personally. Even for parks that have 6,8 ,10 pitches.

Just don’t have this conversation with British people. They don’t like giving 1 POI per field. They want a single POI for the entire sports ball area.

Too late, mate.

For me, it’s got to be someone almost making a perfect nomination: well researched, good information, easy to verify… and then they go and ruin it all by doing something silly like including their dog in the main photo.

Yeah, as @26thDoctor says.

The only time I’ve nominated separate tennis courts was when I was in Lanzarote and at a resort, they had a clear 1 and 2 for their courts.

lol, we have neighborhoods around me with 12 - 14 courts, all with numbered signs, fenced in pairs (so I’d submit as 6 - 7 POI), and always in use so that it’s hard to photograph them with no people to submit.

Saying that there is no pokestops nearby, and yet there are 50 duplicate checks

State Survey Markers.

Loathe them. Everytime i see one, to the unsafe tick box off there they go.

I can always find a way. Cardinal directions, nearby landmarks, even gps coordinates are preferable to me over randomly assigned numbers.

“Popular restaurant” with no additional info always gets me.

You did say Wayfarer, not just reviewing peeves, so I’ll be the first to say that staff (or Emily) doing weird things and not communicating effectively or at all irks me lately.

To illustrate my point, I’ve just tonight realised that my Niantic reviewed and rejected mural suddenly now has a “reason” and it’s even less helpful than no reason at all was :woman_facepalming:

When i take a photo to nominate and i dont notice that i put the smallest piece of my thumb in the main photo and when i notice the mistake im too far away to nominate it again

I wish the bad ones were at least good bad ones.

Agreed! But I must say, recently submitted one that has a long history as a speakeasy in the 1920’s. Booze was smuggled to the location during Prohibition, Al Capone was known to be a frequent visitor. Today it is a lounge and pizza place. I had a suitable description, of course, and gave more local historical reference in the additional info…Generic business.

I appealed. It came back “Private Residence/Farm” So I took another stab at it…“Popular pizza place in an old speakeasy.”

I put resonators on it for the first time on my way into work this morning. :joy:

You can see all wayspots in the Niantic Wayfarer app.

I know this might be an obvious question but I can’t find where to submit a building for a pokéstop on the Niantic Wayfarer site once I logged into my account. Can someone help me please?

Hi
You can submit new wayspots only ingame.
In your case out of pogo.
Go to the menue and open uploads. There you will find the button.
In Wayfarer (your contribution site) you can track it than.

Not having (or very old) Google Streetview available on the location.
